What if i do this

If I come up and scent a pole (by peeing on it) right after a dog marked it and the dog sees me, will the dog care? I'm basically advertising I own the pole right after the dog scented it, so will this action garner any response from the dog?

And in case a human is too intimidating, what if it's a dog who "steals" this territory?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

What kinda dog is fluffy? I'm thinking Poodle, Maltese, or even Malti-poo, but then again it might just be a crazy, little Shih Tzu.

The dog will think "How dare you appropriate our dog culture!"

The dog will probably wonder why you are so stupid.

You're not a dog. Don't do dog things.

Nope, animals are not that self aware. you could pee directly on the dog and it wouldn't give a crap

  • When out and about away from a dogs usual ‘territory’ the random marking isn’t usually a territory claim so for this particular scenario the dog wouldn’t care much.

When different dogs mark at the same post in a neighborhood it’s not so much as a “I claim this” but more like a “I was here too!”

This is why I tend to prefer bitches, but male cats are awesome!

      • Cats may be the only domestic pet I don’t prefer to be female lol. But that might change cause we have a lady cat in our tower that’s the sweetest gal ever.
Big Russian blue, we’ve nicknamed her Ukha after she stole the fish we were going to use for Ukha soup

I have a male blue point Siamese cat, and he's more in my face than some dogs, but I like that about him. He gets under the bed covers like a silky little person. He always has to be sitting on my lap, and when he can't he just sits, and stares at me.

    • So in that case, the dogs in the area would just recognize my smell...like *bark* "hey, you're anon from that place, nice to meet ya" *bark*
