    Assume you're American.

If so, the general outline of your post-college life is this:

You'll spend a lifetime looking for employment that matches your skills and abilities while you're exploited by people who own the businesses that pay you a shit wage for a succession of crappy jobs. In every one of those jobs, you'll be expected to dedicate your entire life to the firm, and then be fired at a moment's notice due to the whims of the idiotic ass-kisser one rung above you. A large part of your miserable income from said crap jobs will go towards paying off a massive college loan debt that reduces at a snail's pace due to interest rates that make rich people (some of whom own the companies paying you your shit salary) even richer.

At some point, a light goes on in your head and you wonder, like millions of your generation already do, why the hell you bothered to go to college.

Very true. If you have a degree in medicine, law, engineering, or business things will be different. Your paycheck will be substantial. You will work overtime your whole life and die with the realization that you never really ever had a life.

Having a life can mean anything. Some people enjoy their work.

Exactly. Therefore, not having a life would mean you have existed, for example, without having friendships, activities and the richness that life has to offer. You have only ever gotten your substantial paycheck.

Well I dont know how others live it but after college (what they call high school elsewhere) I stayed home one year doing absolutely nothing. I sent my cv here and there, got some interviews but nothing happened. Then in December of the same year I got three job proposals. I started to work then enrolled for a bachelor's degree. Did it by correspondance course. Now, I've changed job.

However that 1 year I was home doing nothing was the happiest moment of my life. I woke up at 12, had breakfast, watched tv, had dinner, watched tv and the same routine. I had no debts, no responsibilities, no boyfriend and no worries. Lol

That all depends on what you want to be when you grow up.
