dad abusing me can't leave he threatened to press false charges to the police for serious crimes if I do.. He is a very powerful man and there is no where to go. told a few people and they said just to keep positive and not let it bother me it will make me a stronger person.not making me a stronger person making me really depressed even though I try hard to keep smiling.

    First, all the cops on your dad for the abuse, several times. Get it on record even if it goes nowhere. Establish a pattern of behavior.
    Then, when you leave, if he does file charges against you for something, you have a record of trouble between you two and the cops will be less likely to take the charges made by your dad seriously.
    Lastly, when you leave, go. Don't stay in the same town, go as far away as you can go and establish a life for yourself. Use your brains to beat his brawn. Plan it well and follow through.

    100% work on moving out sometime soon. That is bogus and you know it. I had similar issues with my Mom. Don't know whether or not it made me stronger but it amplified my mistrust of authority.
