What does this job offer mean?

On the job offer it says "we're looking for someone who is willing to work a 35 hr week. it requires every other saturday 9am-5pm and sundays as needed 2pm-6pm with sunday rate double pay"

I'm confused because 2-6 is only 4 hours which means if you calculate it, that would be 6 days a week and 39 hrs OR are they saying one day of the 5 your work would be replaced by the 4 hr sunday and you'd only work 32 hours that week? jw, thanks. I mean I'm assuming sunday is counted as a full day because of the "double rate" but yeah

It means you work 5 days but 32 hrs that week 4
It means you work 6 days so it is 39 hr that week 4
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Ugh, I think it's one of those offers where they don't want to give you an extra hour to make it 40, just so you have no right to benefits.

How come? What kind of job is it anyway?

If you're really in need of a job, i would try to get the job first and then ask about the specifics once you've sealed the deal. Once you've worked there a while, they might even work with you on the hours you need.

they're beating around the bush that the times you would work on Sundays for double pay, you will be expected to do other things mostly because those are the days other people wont be around. You might get extra tips under the table and you can decide yourself if giving blow jobs on the job is worth the net pay you receive in the end.

It means you work when they tell you to work, but they won't put you on for more than 39 hours.

Expect your schedule to be different every single week with inconsistent hours, and unless you are doing an absolutely dynamite job and they love you, you will not be working anywhere close to 39 hours.
