I've been getting to know this girl and when I asked her about why her past 5 relationships didn't work out she said that things outside of the relationships caused the relationships to break, I didn't think much of it but lately I have what does it when mean "things outside of the relationship" make a relationship break? I know I could simply ask her but I don't want to make sure big deal out of it.

    Parents, work hours, travel, all could be considered things that could damage a relationship, don't you think?

    It could mean many things. That the guys always cheated, she always cheated, they didn't have enough time for each other, family got into the way.

    Many things. Instead of speculating, it's simply easier to ask her.

        I guess I mean that OP ought to ask her, to elaborate on what "things outside of the relationship" are. I think it's an excuse of sorts to be completely honest.
