Overweight means "more heavy than is healthy" -- but there are MANY degrees.
If it gets to the point where it's affecting your health, like you feel like shit all the time and you get tired after climbing stairs, you're way too fat.
When my weight goes over 55kg or when I can't fit my jeans anymore. Whichever comes first. I'm a short person, so I have to keep a close watch on my weight.
My opinion of overweight on other people, then it's when there are huge love handles bouncing at their sides--and no one's even pinching it. Or when their arms/legs look chunky, like a balloons tied together. Depends on the person's body type, mostly.
waddling, riding a scooter too small for your ass, flabs that slap your face when you wave, thighs rubbing together, tugging your clothes to the right places, stretching your clothes before you even put them on, a pantry full of junk food, shopping at walmart...sorry I couldn't resist...
That's not true mr frosty29. Not everyone has the time or desire to achieve a six pack. They are nice and whatnot, but not everyones cup of tea. Don't be pompous. And no, I'm not some hefty lardass , I'm about 10-15 pounds 'overweight' but I'm certainly not fat. I don't hang out of my clothes and never have. Most people don't mind a little meat on the bone
For me it means " Hey Fatboy drop the Potato chips and get on a running machine!!! " lol
The opposite of "underweight"... OVER(meaning excessive, in excess of, too much, an immoderate quantitative amount of cellulite that resides on a particular human body.
I'm really good at answering questions like these. I used to be a motivational counselor.
...I'm hungry I'm going to get some bacon and ice cream.
Im a guy, 6 foot 200 pounds, not much muscle haha, would that be fat to you?
over weight means fat people and i h8 fat people... Well not all fat people just the ones that don't do anything but sit on their butt and eat all day and when it comes to P.E they are the last ones still running and out of breath... But i have friends that are fat and they know this about me so... :p
i think its that someone who is not normal..its little bit more to the fat side than the normal side.
I'm american. Overweight does describe americans in general. All the fast food. And easy living. In Germany, being a little overweight was never an issue. People there really just take a little heaviness as a sign of good health. Americans are statistically heavier and have higher %body fat/person, than any other country.
City people don't get a chance to exercise as much as they should. We are supposed to be roaming the world hunting rabbits and climbing trees looking for fruit, in which case we could be trimmed down fairly easily... Civilization boxes us in. It isn't all our faults... People say I have a pot belly, but I fight with weight issues all the time, and I've forgetten what a potato chip even is.
Overweight means you are over the weight deemed healthy for your size, but it doesn't always mean that you are out of shape. Out of shape is when its noticeable to the naked eye, your fat percentage is higher then it should be and it shows. There are plenty of people that are well within their designated weight range, but they are out of shape and people considered overweight that are toned and in shape. So I supposed the term "overweight" means something different depending on who's using it.
Being overweight in any manner is a dangerous an
d unhealthy situation. I have been trying to los
e weight all of mylife, and I can tell you that
it is a losing battle.
i would cry and be depressed if i was overweight, right now im under the average weight of what i should be by a few pounds, my goal is 118, im 5'10
When you have a significant gravitational pull and small animals orbit around you....yeah you're a bit overweight.
Technically overweight is any weight that exceeds the recommended weight for someone's height on the BMI index. Obese is any weight that is excessively over the recommended weight for someone's height on the BMI index. That being said, it doesn't consider body types:

who voted avg weight? I wanna know. Those people must have the FHM magazines stacked up for life!
Overweight for me means anything above my BMI. I'm 5'10" and average weight. I've been thin as a child. Then they removed my tonsils and I wouldn't eat much. A doctor gave me all natural drops and vitamins and told my mother to give me certain foods. At first, I would only eat blended vegetables and plenty of peanut butter. I loved peanut butter. I still got thinner. Then I started eating plenty of food and ate more than the average person. I ended up husky. Then I started growing and eating a little less. I started eating plenty of salads(my dad makes good salad). I ate fruits and vegetables and(despite me being overweight) I enjoyed going to the school gym. I got older and fitter and my metabolism skyrocketed. I ended up a naturally thin, healthy adult who was always the first one to show up in gym class. I remained average weight for a while. I suffered contipation for a while, then discovered fiber. I was lacking energy lately (despite being average weight). Then I discovered tamarind juice and had plenty of energy and good hydration ever since. Tamarind juice hydrates better than water because it replaces lost electrolytes in a healthy way that water simply cannot. Sports drinks replace some electrolytes, but not nearly like tamarind juice does. Plus, tamarind gives you powerful sustainable natural energy(something that coffee and energy drinks simply can't claim). Finally, it also helps clear out toxins from our bodies(we're all toxic to some degree). Eat right, stay active, keep a healthy BMI, and hydrate with plenty of water and tamarind juice.
I have WAY too much time on my hands, lol!
Averages are a great thing. Surround yourself with fatter people than you and it changes your perspective on things!
I love a chick with some meat. Good ol' meat. Not man meat. Although maybe man meat. In general I just want some meat on a chick. Like I said, good ol' meat.
So I'm a girl? You think that if a girl doesn't have a six pack they're fat, because I don't know a single girl with a six pack...
stupidest thing I've ever heard. There are severely skinny anorexics who don't have six packs. Are you going to tell them they're over weight?
really, unless i'm paying for it, i dont have the time for a 6pack. I satisfied with my 4pack.
muscle doesnt mean youre not overweigh some people are just normal weigh and dont have one while they are very strong. Much people with visible muscles are overweight too from overworking
