It's just one of this retarded society's ways to say that, you, as a man, are worthless unless you have a girlfriend or have regular sex with them.

Really, I think it means having done whatever you want to do. What you want to do depends on who you are and who she is. I would say "to get the girl" has some sort of long term connotation to it, so for me it's probably more likely to mean "become her boyfriend".
