What does it mean when someone stops looking you in the eye?

So, there this guy I like, and the first few times we met, he was pleasant and matained eye contact.

Then a fiasco happened where he sold a friend who is also my friend a 80 dollar book for 70 dolars despite he fact it was used. I told my friend about the actual price and I think my friend may have told him and then told him to bring the price down.

So afterwards, he was mean to me and ignoring me. After that he talked to me and then after awhile didn't make eye contact.

    Well, he may no of "liked" you in the first place but my guess is that now he definitely dislikes you. You may of caused him drama and if I'm like other guys in general when it comes to drama, we hate drama but we hate people that put us in drama even more.

    I'd find someone else to "like".

    Nobody likes losing cash. Don't think he liked you that way in the first place. A guy likes to look good in front of a girl and now he feels he doesn't, especially since you wasn't on his side in the deal. Don't bother about him though, these things happen.

    He does not like you anymore because you put him in an uncomfortable situation and you should just stop talking to him

    Ten bucks can be a lot of money if you are short on cash. So if he had to give your friend ten bucks back it must have hurt. And YOU are responsible for that hurt. So give the guy some space. If he is interested in you he'll get over it. Right now the mere sight of you annoys him.

    Well, in my case, when I stopped making eye contact it was because I thought people could read my mind. But I highly doubt this is your problem.

    He probably doesn't like your getting involved in something that wasn't really your business and wants to avoid you.

    He doesn't like you anymore because he's greedy and you're the reason he got caught. Move on. There's much better out there.

    I suspect he has quite a resentment against you for snitching to your friend about the price of the book. He probably figures that you're a gossip and not someone he can trust.

    It's best not to get involved in other people's affairs regarding money.

      What would you suggest I do to patch things up with him? I really like him and wish him to be my boyfriend.

    Could be lots of things. I find myself often having to put in a conscious effort to stare at people in conversation. Its just not something i naturally think of doing and dont get why it is expected.
