I think that the image is not me, in a mirror everything is reversed so you basically see your face reversed,
Most have fairly symmetrical faces so it doesn't change that much but there is a vsauce vid on YouTube explaining this and showing what certain historical figures like Lincoln would see in the mirror and what they actually look like, sometimes it was a surprising change,
"Can I have your number?"
...But seriously, I only look at mirrors at certain times. If I look at a mirror, I'll most likely be there for about half an hour just looking at myself...Vain, I know, but that's the truth, and it irritates me because I'm pretty powerless from looking away.
I know, seems funny, but I'm serious...
I suppose. I was in bed yesterday and forgot I had a mirror facing my bed. I was just leaned up looking for ten minutes and had to get up and move it away so I could get sleep.
I am a bit vain, but it does seem to have become a bigger problem than I originally thought it would be.
Honestly, I don't blame you for wanting to look at yourself. You're narcissistic, you like to look at yourself, and that's fine. Hopefully though it's just your looks that you're obsessed with, and not anybody elses. Anyways, I'm just saying it's ok to be vain but its not ok to be an asshole. I don't picture you as one, but vanity tends to make people superficial. Only caring about looks in others as opposed to substance; I could be wrong on that though.
You are not vain, you just like yourself and that is good. Of course, boundaries are needed.
Since I've been working out these past few months the first think I do when I look at myself in the mirror is lift up my shirt and think "I'm not quite there yet" since I'm trying to get a six pack. After that I think that I'm still a pretty attractive guy, or average.
By the way, interesting question OP.
Just looked in the mirror first thing that came to my mind was "your one good looking motherfucker"
Sometimes I find I do a double-take.
I might be casually minding my own business and happen upon a mirror, notice movement or shiny thing and glance up briefly. Then there is a moment of shock and I look back and realise its me -- and I am cute. But I do not think I am until I look at it. Low self-esteem I guess.
Avoid looking at your naked reflection where possible though. *shudders*
I usually try to mentally minimize my flaws with little to no success. I am getting better at looking at myself and accepting what I see but it's only because I have to. Some things you can't change.
I dunno... I look at myself in the mirror when I shave.
When I shave I think "Man, wish my beard would grow slower..."
The spectrum is quite broad, from "Hello, gorgeous!" to "What did I ever do in the previous life to look like that in this one?!"
think lookin good big guy and bounce out the door ! but i did once see a guy dressed like the undertaker from wwe with a staff and thought i bet he does the same!
"Oh yeah! I'm a hot weird freak of a sexy creature." pop dat pimple, pop dat pimple! And also, "I look good in this lighting, better not check the other mirrors". Overall, I am pleased.
When I have my makeup and hair done:
I look nice, my foundation looks a little cakey, better spritz my face. Ugh, left side has more bronzer than the right. Eyebrows on point though. I need a pore minimizer. I wish I had flawless skin.
Without makeup and hair:
I NEED MAKEUP. I look so dull and tired. My hair is gross. My eyebrows are so thin and sparse. Ew. I wish I had flawless skin.
If I've worked out I think I look pumped. If it's before gym or a day off I think I look like a bag of shit.
I think the barber cut my hair a little bit shorter than I'd've liked, but it'll look nice in a couple of weeks when it's grown out a bit and it certainly looks nicer than it did before it was cut.
I don't really attach much emotion to how I look in the mirror. It's just never struck me as a thing I ought to be worrying about. "Yes, that guy is me".
