Depends on why they're vegetarians, I guess. Can't say I'm too fussed either way, really. Although, given that I am a vegetarian, I don't see them as being "losers who don't know what they're missing". I know exactly what I'm missing and if my aim is to not eat meat, then I'm hardly losing.:P I don't see how they're "contradictory hypocrites" either. As for the other options, finding out someone is a vegetarian isn't enough to make me love them or anything like that. There are obviously far more important factors in determining whether I like someone. That said, if they're a vegetarian for similar reasons to me, then that tends to make me like them a little bit more, since we have something in common.
I can't say I really care, though. What bothers me is when people are very forceful in their beliefs. I've never had to put up with that much, although I do have a friend who clearly seems to think vegetarianism is very strange, and she has a habit of bringing it up without cause. She can't understand why someone who likes meat would choose not to eat it. Same applies for veggies as well, by the way. I'm fine with people having (and voicing) their opinions, but there's a time and a place for that sort of thing (4.30pm, at the Zoo, if anyone's interested:P).
And as for vegans, I admire them for being able to restrain themselves from eating dairy. There's absolutely no way I could ever do that!
I have turned to vegetarianism to make up for destroying the environment with my Molotov cocktails. It's the least I can do.
They have different diets due to their views of preying on animals or health reasons.
That's about it, and all that should really be thought of them. Nothing special, nothing bad. Different dietary choices.
Environmental reasons and the cruelty animals raised for human consumption have to endure while they are living. The issues you stated have never been my concern.
I actually like eating meat, I think it tastes great. I also grew up on a small farm where we raised our own livestock and slaughtered them.
I'll tolerate them.
If they don't want to eat meat, then that is their choice and I respect that, but they shouldn't try to impose their anti-meat eating beliefs on me though. That's when I get angry. I enjoy eating my meat, and that's how I will remain.
I'm a vegetarian but if you automatically assume it's because of a misguided attempt to "save the animals", you're sorely mistaken. It's because I don't believe that humans were meant to eat meat (look at the shape of our teeth - definitely herbivore teeth). Then there's the fact that the size and shape of our large intestines wasn't designed/evolved for digesting meat. Of course that won't stop most people from eating meat because of the way the body was designed/evolved; mouths and anuses weren't designed/evolved for sex but people still use them that way anyway.
My sis is vegetarian and when I was younger I was made to become a vegetarian, so I clicked love them as I don't feel the others suffice. You should have also included- I like them. I wouldn't say I love them though, however I do admire them for having such a strong attribute and resisting the temptation from becoming a sheep.
as per meat.. I believe its one of the gifts of God to humans and one should openly benefit from it.. its a cycle man.. it was all healthy and balanced ..
I woe to those who think that avoiding eating meat would somehow help .. cause this isn't gonna stop.. and the extinction of animals is not because they're eaten but many many other climatic changes.. even if we don't eat them they're somehow going to die because of the effects of climatic change on them.. also why are those animals which aren't commonly seen getting extinct ?? the reason is the same!!
these people should put more stress on reducing global warming which in real is causing harm to the whole earth!! instead of avoiding meat they should avoid driving those vehicles which produce heavy smoke.. they should stop deforestation.. they must stop wasting water.. e.t.c!!
and these vegetarians should know that even the vegetation resources are getting scarce.. day by day the plants and the greenery would become less and one day will they start claiming that they should stop eating vegetables.. OH WE HUMANS WILL DIE>. won't we??
ITS ALL ABOUT KEEPING THE RIGHT BALANCE!! :)
Do you mean vegetarians or vegan? A lot of vegetarians cheat and eat eggs but born or unborn its still meat. So I do not think vegetarians really have any right to call themselves that. However a vegan eats no product made or coming from animals.
Being vegetarian is hypocritical since they still eat meat. I also do not buy that humans are ACTUALLY herbivores and we just somehow got it wrong all these years. People have a right to not eat meat as much as a right to eat meat. Neither person should be judged either way.
However I do believe that we should take good care of the animals we eat. Studies have also shown healthy animals make better meat. So if we have a bunch of sick diseased animals in cramped corners the meat is not going to be the best quality. A thing many people do not realize either is some people simply can not handle no meat. A lot of people have given up since they were constantly hungry and always had a craving for meat.
