What do you think of people who put self harm vidoes on youtube?

More importantly - why are you watching self-harm videos in the first place?

Fucking idiots who crave attention. Cutters don't walk around showing their scars and whining how shitty their life is. I was a cutter, a few girls i dated were cutters.. nobody even knew.

They're either just looking for attention, or seeking help in the form of that attention. Either way they shouldn't do it. Never watched a self-harm video in my lifetime, though, and never will.

It may be attention-grabbing, but obviously there is an issue to which attention needs to be brought. I don't think hurting oneself is the best way to solve a problem, but crying out in whatever way (though some are better than others) can be a good first step toward recovery from psychological trauma.

Given that people who self-harm often do it for attention, Youtube is the logical progression of that. They're just taking it to the next level. I feel bad for anyone who needs that level of attention. It must be really difficult.

They should kill themselves and get it over with.

First thought: Attention whores. I'd much rather see a rant video than a self-harm video.

if its fresh cuts then i think it nees to be covered up. however if its 100% healed scars, then i dont see the problem. i think covering up all the time if they dont want to, adds to the unspoken ''be ashmed and silence'' thing going on about mental health. these things should be talked about and brought to light to raise awareness. and to show your scars (NOT cuts, those are fresh, scars are HEALED) can be a brave thing to do. also if its buttfuck hot outside no one should suffer heatstroke and sweating and being uncomfortable just for the sake of other people. if someone sees someting they dont like, they can literally look away. "

do you tell an amputee to cover up or stay inside? do you tell a burn victim to hide their form away because it disturbs you? then why the callousness towards mental health and some of the physical side effects that can show/manifest themselves?

i think if u cut alone and keep it a secret your just depressed... if u make videos and show people your looking for attention

anyone who does self harm has some issue that should be adressed , this doesnt nescarcarly mean their scuicidal, but this is a very serioues issue and to a piont can become life threatning as well as reuiing your nerves , it can get infected and if you hit a nerve to deep it may not stop bleeding at all , however this is often a step to becoming scuicidal but not in every singal case " .

I understand that some people are hurting bad enough to hurt themselves but I believe the reason they do that is so that other people will acknowledge that they are hurting and give them the attention they are desperately wanting. So all in all it's for attention.

Really sad that they feel this is their only way of getting attention. I never knew these videos existed, that's so awful. I hope they grow up soon!!!

I think they're trolls and I commend them.

If you need put videos of yourself on youtube of yourself comitting sucide, please just see a therapist..cause you're taking up my bandwith!
Don't advertise it on youtube, get the help you need.
