I live in New Jersey, and "The Jersey Shore" has me worried about what everyone else thinks of us...

I think everyone has pretty much always called it "The Garbage State" (it's real nickname is the Garden State....) ever since I can recall, waaay before "Jersey Shore" or reality TV!! It seems like it's just a place for people to live that's near NYC or just a place you unfortuantely have to drive through to get somewhere. Does NJ even produce anything besides idiots?
In my experience, only people from NJ like NJ.
More celebrities are from New Jersey than any other state, and we have(arguably) the most prestigious college in the world, Princeton.
Also Harold and Kumar: Go to White Castle was filmed here and so were parks of Freddy vs. Jason

It also has the most dangerous city in the US, Camden.
I also recall statistics saying NJ has the most KKK and White Supremacist concentration.

Last i checked Camden wasn't no.1 ST. Louis was. 3 of the top 10 worst cities in America are in California but I don't see you bitching about them. And NJ has one of the highest percentages of minorities, so yeah i'm sure we're all racist. BTW the Aryan nation is based in Florida.
Well congrats, Camden! As of 2011 you have been bumped to #2 by St Louis. However you are STILL #1 in RAPE (St Louis is #32) and ROBBERY St Loius is #3) and still beat St Loius in MURDER as #4 while St loius is #5. And you still win in assaults too!! BUT...St Loius beat you badly in burglary and vehicle theft which swept them into the lead, however that's probably only because by now in Camden there's NOTHING left to burglarize and no cars left to steal. But progress is progress I guess.
Oh and what's up with not being allowed to pump your own gas?? Can you guys not figure it out??

I didn't reply to myself accidentally, I did it on purpose, I added the gas comment on as an afterthought to my original post before you ever responded to me, thank you very much.

Does anyone who hates it so much even know a thing about it besides what stupid shows portray it as? I'm less than ten miles from where that stupid show was filmed and I hate that town! Its full of welfare drug addicts who don't take care of their kids. Its a shithole. My town is quite nice, thank you very much. Jersey does have its downsides, but its not all full of guidos gettin smashed and lookin for fights. Jeez

okay, not most new jersyins are Italian. i am from new jersey and @wigsplitz, stfu, because it is not garbage @ all.u just need to know what part. like, if it is camden (no offensive if people on here live there), i would get scared going through there because it is soo trashy and all u here is people getting shot.
I've never seen the show. But my friend from Jersey cracks me up, and the accent adds such a fun flavor. She is quick to defend her home but first to insult it. And she'll kick your ass if you (a non native)talk shit about it.
I like the accent (I'm not American so probably not too qualified to judge) but I do like New Jersey and NYC accents.
As a side-note, Jersey and York are at the opposite ends of our country so it seems weird the New ones ended up close together in yours.
