What do you think of near underweight/underweight people who lie about

What do you think about underweight or near underweight people who lie about working out or being anorexic?

One of my friends is 104 pounds at 5'4 and she's in her twenties. She is underweight for her size/age/etc and on her tumblr that I wasn't supposed to see, she makes posts about being anorexic. I know she's not anorexic and that she has a serious condition. She's been seeing a doctor about this since I knew her at 7 years old. She eats 2800 calories a day and must maintain that always to maintain her weight. She still does this as we go out to dinner and she has to calorie count by ordering higher calorie items on the menu and she always carries shakes with her that are meant to help maintain weight. I know Kiera Knightly and a few other celebrities say they've had this since they were young too so she used to relate to them.

I know in high school she went off of this and decided to eat less and she went down to 89 pounds and was in the hospital for months and had to be home schooled after.

All her tumblr posts are about how she loves being ana and reblogs of underweight girls. She even has an ask fm account and on it, her "fans" ask her how she does it and she tells them don't eat, etc. I hang out with her all the time and she really does eat a lot and I know she's not bulimic because we both use the bathroom together after our meal. Why is she doing this/IIN?

I don't think what your friend is doing is normal, however I think that she yearns to be accepted by people who look a similar to herself.

By telling people "dont eat" when they ask how she does it, is really screwed up. There are actually people out there that will take that LITERALLY and they might end up in the hospital..all bc she wants to be accepted and feel almighty. pathetic. you don't need to be friends with people like that.

I'd say your friend has an eating disorder or, at least, has had one in the past. She was hospitalized for not eating as much as she needed to - right there, that's a problem with food, irregardless of her weird (and possibly made up) metabolic condition.

Anorexic people are hella sneaky. Before I got back up to a healthy weight, I used to plan my calorie intake, eating big meals with friends to prove I was "healthy" but then consuming little if anything when nobody was watching me. I carried protein bars around, ate high-calorie foods in public, and complained about how much I had to eat in order to maintain my weight. Sometimes I believed what I said about eating normally and having a high metabolism but, at other times, I was just ashamed of what I was doing to my body.

But seriously, screw labels. One way or another, your friend is hiding something. Debating whether her claim to anorexia is legit should be the least of your concerns. You need to think about how her toxic thinking affects you. Can you maintain this friendship?

She's lucky because she can eat all the foods that we can't eat!
