What do you think of hans zimmer?

I am a big Hans Zimmer fan, so I just thought I'd throw this out there to you guys to see what you think.

    He does make some beautiful music, although it's not something I would usually choose to listen to.

    9 times out of 10, his music irritates the hell out of me.

    So I'm not a fan.

    I think he's far too popular in Hollywood, and generally produces generic, unimaginative soundtracks. You only have to go on a compilation of his music to hear how uninspiring it is, how it's all about being loud and bombastic without ever stretching outside his dull formula. But - more than that - It just leaves me cold, it makes feel nothing. It's like white noise. Or most US pop music.

    I love listening to Thomas Newman, Michael Andrews, Yann Tiersen and Cristobal Tapia de Veer. They make me FEEL something.

      I should mention though, that there are a couple of exceptions from Zimmer I like. One that springs to mind is 'Time', which I found very emotive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxabLA7UQ9k
