I know this might be just for the Brits here, but how do you feel about Bonfire Night?

It's good fun. Tonight we snuck into the park and set off some cheap fireworks. It sucks that pet animals don't tend to like them.
my neighbor with a pet turkey does that on every 4th of july, this year someone called the cops on him. party poopers.

Over here (US) people throw eggs at trick or treaters on Halloween. One time my DAD let these kids cross the street then egged them!

I've never understood , are you celebrating that he failed or that he might have succeeded ?
Lots of people burn effigies of Guy Fawkes which makes me think the traditional approach is to celebrate that he failed, but some people definitely prefer to celebrate that he might have succeeded.

Traditionally it's celebrating how Robert Catesby and friends (inc. Guy Fawkes) failed to kill the king... By setting off a load of explosives (ironic) and burning effigies on a bonfire.
