Neither of these are even close to WW1 and WW2 in significance.

The pandemic is a worldwide event, the other two were not. Covid has impacted the whole world and changed life as we've known it up to now, so that one is definitely the most important and also the shittiest.

    • 9/11 Certainly had an impact on how we live. An impact that can still be felt 20 years later.

        • Yeah, you think that event was localized to America, it wasn't. I don't even live in America, I live in Sweden, and that event had an enormous impact on social and cultural life here too. Security got stricter everywhere, increased paranoia, increase in racism, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware it's not localized. Racism is also a thing with the Chinese now. There's no saying which was worse but you asked and I answered.

I’m just going to put this out from personal experience. I’ve worked at 3 different Chinese owned and operated businesss. They fucking hated black people. It was mostly comical listening to broken English complain about black AMERICANS. but these people refused to hire black and didn’t like serving black people.

My whole 28 years, the only thing negative I’ve heard about Chinese is about how my own country outsources everything. That’s not China’s problem. It’s ours.

Whole pandemic. No one ever said anything cross about Chinese people that I’ve ever heard.

Covid 19 purely because of governments reactions to it. If the goverments didn't tard out about it like they have done then I would have said the financial crisis, but the freedoms they can take from us, and the freedoms people will willingly give up speaks volumes.

I was gonna say "quantum computing" and be optimistic for the future, AI and space travel but no... it has to be a negative thing!

Well, fine... most significant negative event in the 21st century was 9/11 and the boom of terrorism and radical extremism.

While the economy crash in 2008 did impact a lot of people and the coronavirus is still raging, both of these pail in comparison to the skyrocketing extremism and terrorism. An issue we will continue fighting for years to come. Hopefully that too will become just another lesson in the history books for future generations.
