What do you think is the age difference limit for dating?

I met this dude online and as it turns out he's 6 years older than me....

My parents are 5 years apart so I don't think it's THAT abnormal...but I want to see other people's thoughts...soo
what do you think??

I think it depends on if you are young or not. There is a bigger difference between a 14 and 16 year old than a 24 and 26 year old.

Half the older person's age plus seven years is a fairly good rule, even though there are obviously exceptions to it. So if they're 18, they shouldn't be dating someone younger than 16. If they're 25, no younger than 19. If they're 50, no younger than 32.

Yeah it depends on how old you are. It's a sliding scale...the older you are the larger the gap that is A. Acceptable and B. safe regarding having anything in common.

Well, there's no real limit. But I don't think you have to worry about any negative opinions until it's 10+ years

I am going to be twenty-six this year and I have been dating a man who is thirty-one years my senior for three years now, and we have been cohabitating for two years now. We get along just fine and oddly enough we share similar views and similar tastes in music. Also, we just had a child together last year, so it's not really that uncommon. Just as long as he/she treats you alright and you two have things in common you should be ok.

pretty much anything over 18 is a big ass free for all. bt before that part of your brain that helps with decision making isnt developed

If you think it's an issue, then it is. I'd date people aged 17-26, turning 23 myself.

Well it depends really. Its it like 14-19 that is five years and well some might see a problem with it. If you are 20-25 not really that big of an issue

I am 22 and my significant other is 36 and we are both very happy together.

But there is no way in hell I would go for anyone older than him. He is very active, physically fit and "youthful" but I highly doubt I would find many like him outside of my age range. People do think we are kind of weird but when you're happy with someone, it hardly matters.

I'm in a serious relationship with a woman 41 years younger than I am, and it's by far the best relationship I've ever had. Neither of us goes to work (we work together on our boat) so we are not apart at all (we spend every minute of every day together). Though we've only been together for 2.5 years, if you were to consider that we've only been apart for 10 days in that time, it may be much more like a 7 or 8 year relationship for most people. Ain't love grand?
If both parties are adults, then age should have absolutely nothing to do with how good a relationship is. An older man is usually more financially secure, sexually experienced, caring, attentive and much less likely to stray, than a young buck.

We're kind of the same...I am in a relationship with a man who is 31 years older than I am (I am 25 and he's 56) and we had a baby last year. We have been dating for three years and living together for two years. We get along very well.
