I pretty much hate being talked down to. I'd much rather have a dialog with someone and have to look up the meaning of a word or two than communicate in baby talk.
Depends if they are speaking naturally or attempting to sound intelligent online flipping through the thesaurus using all the big words they've picked out all wrong.
Typically, they're trying to sound smarter than what they really are. They often use the words out of context. The same can be said for people who are constantly trying to callout fallacies. I'll gouge my eyes out next time I see the words "straw man".
I voted arousing. UNLESS they use them wrong or misspell them... that irks me immensely.
