I'm a Dutchman and I would like to know how you - predominantly Americans I believe - view us, because I've heard that some of you have some pretty weird ideas about us.

The Dutch are awesome. You guys sure know how to run a country. The few Dutchmen I've met are very nice. Plus I have Dutch blood myself, so hey, haha.
I have Dutch family so I'm biased but I like the Dutch for other reasons too. Although I've worked with the Dutch and my friend lived in Den Haag for years, most of my picture of how the Dutch are has been built up from the footballers and managers who have worked here. My favourite player ever is Dutch and some of my favourite managers are.
I tend to see the Dutch as open, witty, tall, fair, and people who like to resolve conflicts face-on, even if it means people being temporarily upset.
If my international team is knocked out of the tournament, I then choose to support the Spanish or Dutch instead (the World Cup Final was a toughie).

My grandfather apparently had very low opinion of the Dutch. I have no idea what this was based on, I guess it was just his racist side (my family is shamefully racist...it's so depressing).
My uncle is Dutch. He's pretty much an idiot, but I don't pin that on his country of origin.
Other Dutch people I've met have been lovely, very friendly and open.

I don't think about you much. I don't know enough about Dutch culture to make any generalizations. In my eyes, you're neither good nor bad. You're people from a certain country. Aren't we all?
You guys also ride bicycles in wooden clogs, right? And have lovely windmills! Oh, and prostitutes! lol
