Please do not smash, carve, or hire pachyderm hit-men to squash me.
Option 1 is fine.
Make jack-o-lanterns, and then smash them in front of impressionable, sensitive kids from the suburbs.
Nothing but I like pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin pie, pumpkin frappes, pumpkin lattes and chocolate pumpkin brownies.
Pumpkin bread used to be my favorite as a child. I haven't had it since I was 8. I do like Pumpkin pie but again, I haven't had it in years. Carving pumpkins is a lot of work but it's fun to see how it comes out! Smashing them is just a waste of a perfectly edible and craftable pumpkin.
Pumpkin bread is pretty tasty and you can bake the seeds, so after carving it use it and eat it! =)
I used to carve faces in them. They smell strange and once cooked into a pie, they are alright, but nothing to write home about.
adorable pic, i had pumpkin this morning for breakfast, plus i make a mean pumpkin scone
I've only ever really seen one on TV. I wouldn't have the first clue. Is it like non-sweet melon?
You've never seen a pumpkin?!!!! Do they have halloween where your from???
I've never seen a real life pumpkin, no. It used to be turnips here before moving to the new world. Halloween was invented by my ancestors and I'm really glad you follow a certain version of it and have made it your own. We still celebrate the Samhain bonfire to an extent and souling. I am actually really glad America continues our customs because they're most likely to be preserved that way. All Souls is a really big one! It's wonderful that you celebrate our Halloween with us and keep this tradition going.
Wow still amazes me you have never seen a pumpkin in real life when halloween starts nearing here there in every store around town, people sell them off trailors on the side of the road, and the churches have pumkins patches where they sell hundreds of them. Lol everyone has a pumpkin or 2 on their porch carved out. Its always been tradition in our family for everyone to carve their own pumpkin. You really need to get one now just so you can carve it its really fun. Everyones gotta do it at least once in their life
No it is more of a gourd like squash. When you eat it raw it mostly tastes like squash, kind of a Sweet, earthy taste. It's a love it or hate it kind of food. Unless they are talking about pumpkin pie, which contains pumpkin but tastes nothing like pumpkin really.
