What do you do to completely get over the one you love?

I'm wondering what does one do to get over someone? There was someone I was in love with, but due to circumstances beyond our control, it wasn't something that was possible. I've been pretty bummed about it for a few days and I want these feelings to be completely erased. What should I do to completely erase them?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Everyone's saying time, but I think it also takes a little parsley, sage and rosemary.

You don't erase them. It's only been a few days. Just let your feelings happen.

Wait. Next thing you know, you'll be thinking about the person less and less.

It's kind of sad, but time just makes things disappear.

As cliché as it may seem, time is the answer.

You wll never forget him completely but i agree that the only solution is to find someone else.

Go find someone else. That person will never be completely gone, but they will fade quickly, if you are involved with someone else.

Spend time with your friends. Don't feel guilty if they're spoiling you, they're just sticking up for you.

You could try trampoline, ladder, 4 wheel drive or show jumping horse. They should all easily you get you over the ex.

Took me about 4 years, but eventually got over her especially when I bumped into her last year and realised how even more self centred and egotistic she'd become!

  • I ended up belittling myself whenever I thought of the person. I kind of just disregarded it through pride but now I can't really connect with people romantically which is an issue now. So probably don't do what I did.

"What should I do to completely erase them?" I tried to... I trad to forget the memory of her and everything to do with her. Ended up loosing most of my childhood and still feeling horrible.

Lesson learned: Don't fuck with your memories.

I got over her in a few years after I saw what a horrible person she had become. Or maybe she was always that way; I just couldn't see it.

I heard someone say find a fling. Someone else to keep your mind off the other person. It might turn out to be something more and meaningful. Too bad I don't find one so I can move on from this fuckboy I see now.

Meditation helps a lot. Just look up meditation healing music and relax guided meditations work as well

What circumstances were beyond your control? And what would it take for this relationship to happen?

I've been deeply in love with a lot of people, since like age five. This is no lie. However even to this day i have never been in a relationship - never actually had to or could say "i love you" to my romantic interest.

The best way to get over someone is to find someone else. Depending on the strength of the emotion you feel for that person you are trying to "get over" it could be a few days, weeks; years. It's not a crime to love, but in the very end - thats all it is.

Find a way to make the thing from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind,

Basically no I don't have any actual advice other than time, you can force things like this

The fastest way to get over an ex is to start hating them. I know it's not healthy but it can make it easier to get over it. Obviously you would only hate them if they did something really bad, like cheating. Otherwise only time will make the pain go away. I actually got over my last break up very quickly.
