Socially awkward until I get to know the people I'm around. Can never get used to the bfs mum though. Haha.
I am like this as well but it tends to be ages before I become normal around them and by that time they don't like me haha
Depending on the person and their personality, it could take hours, weeks, or months. I met this one kid recently and we act like we've known each other for years and that was after the first day meeting. But there are just some people that are so awkward it makes me just.. awkward. Haha.
I agree with dappled, I vary between the two extremes, depending on who I am with
I'm weird because it depends on the company. I can occupy any point on the scale from being completely dominant and holding court, to facilitating and keeping everyone involved, to being very insecure and a bit of a fish out of water. My default position is usually chatty, friendly, open, and attentive. I'm very interested in people. All people, pretty much.
I'm usually too busy to socialize, but in the past I was always pretty quiet. I did a lot of listening to what everyone else was talking about. These day if I do get to go out and hang with friends, I'm still a little quiet, but share thoughts and opinions when it counts.
Somewhat conserved/choose my words carefully and relaxed, but then again, if the content of the subject is interesting to me, I can have a passionate, intellectual, flowing conversation with someone, which I love doing.
