What do you call people in online relationship

I have been friends with a real nice guy in high school . We talked a lot in facebook and real life . But a few months he got a girl friend from another country online . And everybody was like wtf? I asked him and he told me that it was because. She confessed her feeling to him . Asked him are you out of your mind ?he says he loved are and wanted to marry heR .I still wonder what got into him accepting something so weird .

He is insane 22
Love is really blind 16
he had his heart broken 4
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I call them being "in a relationship" because that's what they are. My brother met his wife of 12yrs online and they are happy.

Online is better than in person as you have millions of choices instead of hundreds. I never found anyone I loved until I met my now fiancé online. He's from England, I'm from America and I could not love him more. But these people seem to young to form any sort of serious relationship.

I agree but in my case the guy. Argues even if some boy comment on her picture .

Young American girls use boys as sex objects, so yes, it is not surprising that an American guy would find emotional intimacy in correspondence with a foreign girl. I expect the "fuck buddy" phenomenon to become a way of life in the US and Canada over the next few decades.

  • I do think its a sad state of affairs (and a byproduct of greedy capitalism) that these websites even exist. The social stigma is that not getting married or at least monogamous is far too prevalent in society today. And because of this we have a very large amount of unhappily married and unnecessarily competitive people convinced that they are "living life".

Lol. Some Alkaline Trio lyrics popped into my head.
"And do you find you like to fall in love with people that you're never gonna meet? It's easier than breaking up and crying in the street"

On a serious note most people I know that had an online relationship got dumped when the other person found someone they could hang out with face to face that actually lived close to them and vice versa. It's most likely going to happen to him eventually.

This is a very sad and pathetic state of affairs. That young people would rather form relationships with people they have never and may never meet, instead of with the people they meet face to face, is absolutely amazing. I guess fantasy is so much safer to these pathetic losers than a real living breathing human relationship.
This cannot possibly be evolution, so it must be devolution. Are these the same losers who will have a robot/android lover when they become available? How very, very sad.

It's an "intelligent assistant" on apple technologies, such as the iPhone 4, that replies to you when you talk to it, usually in a female voice.

I think this is crazy because people can "be" whoever they want online and cause a lot of harm to others both intentionally or unintentionally so you should be very careful!. a movie called "Disconnect" portrays this perfectly.

I think if you can't meet the person face to face then you better keep them at a safe distance

"in a relationship" isn't in the polls.

I've known a lesbian couple who actually got married after they met online. So don't diss it.

Lol. Ikr. I met my girlfriend back during the myspace days. I thought she was hot so I added her. Later, I found out she knew a friend of mine because he had a party at his house and she showed up there too. We had been online friends for 5 years and had been dating online for two years before we finally met.

It's really not that bad. It's risky, yes, very risky. There are times, though, where online relationships are easier BECAUSE you don't have to deal with physical intimacy. Though, I do have a biased opinion because I've been with my boyfriend for over 3 years now. We met online, too.

P.S For online relationships, you have to have more patience than real life relationships. If they lack it, then they'll get hurt.

It's not in the way that you'll stay till the end
It's not in the way you look or the things that you say that you do
