What do you believe your main role is on iin?

What is your purpose on IIN, aside from your personal reasons. Do you believe you're that occasionally-visiting helpful person, coming now and then to read stories and make posts which try and give social advice and/or comfort the OP?
Or, rather, do you more see yourself as someone who likes to muck around on here with other IINers; go on the member chat and enjoys the social aspects of the site?
Do you come to argue and make your points about a subject known? Simply post irritating nonsense? Lurk and read stories out of interest? Etc.

Additional: Do you know this site well, is it like a virtual home to you? Have you been here a long, or even short time, and know many of the little inside jokes some regs have?

    I like the users here. I try to help the best I can but I truly believe this site is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on the internet. I can't explain fully why but I just really think IIN is a good thing.

    A, C, D, E, and F occasionally.

    I come here to laugh, make people laugh, give advice where I can, and I stayed because the users here are awesome. You guys are the best virtual friends a guy could have :)

    Nowadays, I'm mostly here just to talk to people I've gotten to know. I still read the posts and comment, but I don't think I'm all that helpful, just angry.

    How I'm feeling today about my IIN presence, I'll vote C and E (particularly if E extends to laughing at the fucking weird shit this site has to offer).

    I think my role is pure honesty, giving a perspective but without trying to filter out anything that may hurt your feelings, because truth doesn't stop where your feelings begin.

    I used to argue a lot on here, but it just got too tiring, having to go back and forward with people on points because they refused to acknowledge the point that proved them wrong up to ten times, that I realized arguing on here is pointless, they will not acknowledge things if they conflict with what they want to hear, as in they don't care about truth, just that their opinion is seen right, and again, it just gets tiresome.

    I tend to go on chat more than answer posts. Sometimes I chat, sometimes I am just on there waiting for a topic to come up while on other tabs.

    I have less interest in the site than I did last year or two years ago.

      You know, your second paragraph is *exactly* how I used to feel when arguing with you.:P

      However, I respect you most when you're honest. I like people who are completely honest and open about their beliefs, regardless of whether anyone likes their beliefs or not. It's one of the things I respect most in a person, and you (and wigsplitz) get my respect for being like that. It's a shame your interest in the site isn't the same. Neither is mine, and I don't think we're alone.

    Hmmm. A, C, D, G, and I guess other as well, being as I've attempted to offer some technical advice on a few subjects.

    I feel like my main role here would be simply to offer support and information to people. Also, I probably end up aggravating any grammar Nazis here with copious run-on sentences and likely many misplaced commas.

    I don't really feel like any of those. I've never felt like I'm in a position to advise people on what they should be doing, because I'm young and as clueless as a pair of socks.

    How social I am on IIN goes through phases. I usually keep to myself, like most users, although there are times where I've been very social and that was one of the main reasons I was here. I don't feel social now, although I still have a few conversations every now and again. I'm just not feeling the community vibe much, so although at times I might have considered IIN something of a "virtual home", I don't feel like that now.

    I usually just give my half-formed opinions. I don't really serve much of a purpose or play a certain role. From your options, I think the one I fit best with is B, except instead of voting I usually comment.

    I don't really feel very compatible with IIN anymore, so I don't know where I am at the moment. I've never had a solid role, it's always been more of a phase type thing. And I've been here for a few years, so enough to know some inside jokes.

    Oh dear, I would've done "mixture of A and B", "mixture of A and C" etc. but I thought that would've taken up too many options.

    I think I'm A, D and E. And, as for the additional, I don't quite know what I am. I've been here a long time, 5 years or more, and I know some of the little inside quirks/jokes (ItDuz family, Frosties the tiger) but I've never posted often enough to ever be listed in any of the posts about the IIN members.

    Haha, although, I'm not complaining; there are a lot of interesting people on here and I'm happy to just be an ON and OFF bystander.
