What are your thoughts on this quote? iin?

Some people say, there's somebody for everybody. As an answer to that statement, Louis CK said this:

"There are people out there who there’s just nobody for them. People like to say things like, ‘There’s someone for everyone.’ NOPE! Not at all true! And stop saying it ‘cause it’s mean to people who never find anybody. There are millions of people out there who we’ve all unanimously decided they are light-speed ugly and nobody kisses them on the lips ever! Nobody touches their genitals their entire life, they just wash it and then they die, that’s all that happens. Aw, and if you’re feeling bad for them, you can go find one and fuck one tomorrow, you can just solve the problem right there, with all that kindness in your heart. ‘Aw, well go fuck one!’ ‘Nah…’ ‘I didn’t think so!’"

Do you agree with the first statement or with Louis CK's answer? Elaborate, if you feel like it!

I agree that there's refuse nobody wants to touch with a ten foot pole.
It's supply&demand and everybody wants someone beautiful but that demographic ends up with each other and the average ones get matched together until you reach people so repulsive they don't even want each other.

    there's always someone for anyone

just because one of us may feel someone is too vile to find a partner doesn't mean it's how reality will play out.

now will some people be alone? Yes. that doesn't necessarily mean there's no one for him or her, but that other factors got in the way - be it personal choices, or they haven't yet met, etc

"light-speed ugly" ...that's awesome. I agree with the fact that there is NOT someone for everyone.

funny you say that. I have a silly birthday book and for my day, my "meditation" is -you will meet yourself wherever you go.

On the contrary, I think there's thousands of people for everyone.

That doesn't add up. There are more young males than females so how can every male have thousand females? Even if there were slightly more females it would still not be possible.

I think he just means that many great matches are out there, but you will probably only encounter 1 or 2 of those people in your lifetime if you're lucky.

That's what I mean. Just because there are many potential partners who you have mutual attraction with and the potential to work well together, doesn't mean either of you will have the initiative to start a relationship. Even if a relationship happens, that relationship doesn't have to last a lifetime. People rarely have just meaningful partner in their whole lives. You could end up being a defining man for more than one woman your whole life, and she could end up being a defining girl for more than one guy in her whole life. It also works with the genders reversed and for same-sex couples.

Any person who you had a meaningful relationship with, perhaps meaningful enough that future relationships would be judged by that standard. I don't know, I couldn't think of a way to phrase it that made much sense.

Of course there is someone for everyone. People assume that being a nerd or a dork wont get you a girl. That is completely wrong. Now we have the girls/guys that are considered A material.

Which are usually very athletic or very pretty and everyone wants. However its not like there is not nerdy/dorky women and I am sure there is a pretty nerdy female somewhere.

However people tend to only keep vision on the A materiel which are the most desirable in the crop. Being the most desirable does not mean there is not others in the field. Just those are the ones everyone wants to ignore.

Its not impossible for anyone to get a partner ever. You might not be able to catch that foxy Jennifer but its not someone is not out there willing to be with you.

I think that there are multiple someones for everyone, no matter what. You don't have to be alone if you don't want to be.

There is no unanimous group that's decided that you are unworthy of love. The only person who can decide that for you is yourself.

Lol. I actually didn't read who it was from but it did sound familiar. Honestly I want to disagree with it, but I really don't have much proof. I mean if anything I'm one of those sad saps that he's talking about. I mean I don't feel ugly, but like you know I've never had like a girl like me, as far as I know. I don't want to disagree with it though, the reason is because if I were to agree with it then that would mean that I have no hope. But I do have hope. I have hope that I will meet someone someday, although it is slowly plummeting.

Whether there is someone out there for everybody is irrelevant. Finding someone to be with is the relevant point. For a lot of us normal (not especially good looking or charismatic) folks, that means having realistic expectations and accepting others as they are, not who we wish they were.
"love the one you're with" said Stills, and he was pretty much spot on on this one.
Don't be shy, don't be scared; ask someone out and see how it goes. Perhaps he/she is just as shy and scared, waiting for you to make the first move.
IMO, there is absolutely nothing, I repeat, nothing, better that life has to offer us than a partner, lover and friend to travel through it with.

Interesting. Do you think it's possible that you are in the minority with this mindset?

  • Your options show a shallow opinion on this topic.

It's true lots of people don't ever find anyone.
It's not even always about looks or personality either. Sometimes its just random.
What we should ask is why is our culture so focused on neediness?
Humans are generally selfish which is why they are needy for approval of others while they are hesitant to approve others themselves.
Why would anyone want to be so attached to such a species anyways?

I don't think it's a case of being too ugly to meet someone. We don't all meet and fall in love with the boy/girl next door, do we. I am single through choice. It works for me just having sex when I want it by having O.N.S. As far as I'm concerned I have the best of both worlds an amazing sex life with no commitment.xx

As hard as it is for me to say this, I do believe everyone has something to offer and that something is what someone out there needs. It's just a matter of finding that person. Just because for some it never happens doesn't mean that person isn't out there waiting for them to come along. And I agree with Dom 180, it's pretty likely that there's a lot of said people out there. Not just 1. But as humans we are limited by many factors so we miss out on meeting most people on this planet.
