honestly, wearing all one color gets boring. I love purple but I don't wear it all the time.

    • I agree. I love wearing a variety of colors, as well as patterns. :)

I think you think about it too much. The general public will not know if you always wear it.

    • It's the people in your personal life that are the problem. They treat you like you've just committed a crime.

It will also depend on the actual garments you wear. Black is very dignified at times. Are you wearing a black cocktail dress? Probably not. If you are wearing a long black skirt, black shirt and black coat when it is 90 degrees out, you are making a statement.

You can't get mad at others for judging your outfit when you intentionally want a statement to be made for choosing something so specific.

I don't think people who dress overwhelmingly in black are depressed, I think they want me to think they are dark and mysterious. But really, there is nothing dark or mysterious about this very common teenage rebellion.

Sorry, that's just how I feel. Stop trying so hard to be a mystery.

        • I don't try to make a statement with my clothes. I only try to be myself. I don't wear all black. I wore all black when I was younger. I was very depressed and I wanted to irk people. People responded badly. It was interesting and silly. I wore very little color, especially bright ones, for so long that now I love color and patterns. I don't want to wear all black. I have no problem with other that choose to do this. It's their business, as far as I'm concerned.

Mysterious? Yeah, I guess it has that appeal. But like it because I think it's sophisticated.

Yes,like I said, it can be dignified. When I was preformed in my school symphony we had to wear all black. However that did not mean black jeans and a black trench coat. People who question the all black are not likely wearing fancy clothes. It isn't just the color, but the style as well.

Look into my closet. You would think you've walked into a dark abyss. My family doesn't like it, but I've always worn all black. It's just what I like. Colors just don't do it for me for some reason. I guess I feel like black has some sort of sophistication. That, plus it matches my soul. ;)

Black is a very slimming color! It looks good, and matches with everything. Don't put labels on people because of a color!

Nothing wrong with wearing all black. I tend to wear black over shirts. Black goes with everything.

Personally...I started wearing "solid black", as in black top, pants, and shoes because of work. Before my job, I wore different colors and patterns. Rarely solid colors.

We are required to wear black pants and black or white tops. Also black shoes.
I had to buy basic black pants and basic black/white tops.

I found out that I actually enjoy the simplicity of it. It's comforting to me that I can get away with wearing almost the same thing continuously (different sets of clothing, of course).

I am quite lazy when it comes to wardrobe, but I like to look good. So I accessorize with jewelry sometimes or whatever. In no way am I depressed/suicidal/goth...I just like it sometimes. :)

I always think they are to poor to afford cloths so they wear the same thing everyday. Or don't know how to match cloths and are afraid to try.

Oh, oh. There he goes thinking again. Remember what your doc told you; thinking can be hazardous to your health. Perhaps the word you were seeking was Goth, not hiphop.

I see no problem with people wearing all dark attire. Then again, most of my wardrobe is full of black clothing much to my older sister's dismay. She thinks that it chases away potential suitors for some reason. She seems to be the only person so far that has said anything about it. Everyone else just doesn't seem to mind.

I believe most women dress to their mood and have a pretty large variety of clothes they can mix and match. Most guys dress to get laid.
Anyone who wears all black, all the time, must be an extremely boring, unimaginative person and would appear to have the personality of a rock. Never mind that it's just plain BORING!

I won't deny that I guess I'm pretty boring considering I'm not a partying kind of person, but unimaginative? Nah. I write, draw, create music and everything else that takes a pretty big imagination to accomplish. That's pretty much the only thing my DNA is made up of, and I think most of my black wearing friends would say that same. :)
