What are your mental disorders?

I was just wondering how many people have the same issues I have. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, manic depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder when I was 17. Years later I'm still insecure about it and I don't tell ANYONE. I just wanted to see the results. Maybe I'm being too insecure about it. I just don't want people to judge me based on all of my mental issues so I don't tell anyone.

  • If I went to a doctor, I might be diagnosed with a whole list of things too. They have a diagnosis for everyone these days. I'm not saying people don't have their problems, but sometimes the docs go a bit overboard (or that's what I've observed).

I had some problems with depression in the past but I'm generally fine now, so none. Why was none not an option?

  • I was twice diagnosed with "personality disorders", never a "mental disorder".

Because I don't see blue goblins dancing on my roof eating kfc.

Instead I'm somebody who has a great deal of trouble with sticking to goals, treating others with respect, controlling my temper, telling the truth, impulsiveness, promiscuity and empathy. I was also a prolific vandal in my teens, I caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to cars, houses, schools and shops, I grew out of it later though.

Basically, I never notice that I'm doing anything wrong until I'm told of it. I repeat the behaviour due to the fact that I can't feel bad about it so I forget really quickly that it was wrong. I've tried to force myself to feel sorry so many times because I really want to be, but it never works, there's just nothing there.

But then again, I know a few people just like me if not worse.

If I went to a doctor and told them of all of my life and experiences, I would probably get more than one diagnosis, who knows maybe most of the ones on this list even, I don't know. I have basically functioned in the world but have a long, long history of some pretty seriously strange stuff like staying up until 5 AM writing books, thinking I might get elected president or something, and ranting to myself while pacing around the house naked and other bizarre stuff like that. I used to get really depressed a lot of the time and in the past used to just sit around thinking about strangling myself all day, but not anymore. I also kind of feel like I'm two people in a way. Not that I literally am two people, just that there's a lot of dualities in my personality

MOST psych disorders present in combinations. Partially because they all can share symptoms and partially because they can cause each other. (ie. the feelings being depressed cause you to have may also give you anxiety. OR, Being anxious all the time depresses you.) OCD is almost the same thing as an anxiety disorder. You perform certain activities because it makes you anxious not to. The anxiety is irrational, just as it can be with a general anxiety disorder.

I was diagnosed with: ADHD/ADD, OCD, depression and anxiety. After some researching, I've come to believed that I was misdiagnosed...

I am recovering or should I say, I "Recovered" from anorexia. It was never professionally diagnosed because somehow I managed not to arose too much suspicion from my doctors and my family never got me proper help for it.

ADHD, bipolar, OCD, and as I kid I was ODD but I think I grew out of it, I don't know. At one point I thought I was schizophrenic, I was paranoid all the time, constanly looking behind me, feeling inclosed and I panicked at everything. It lasted for like 3 or 4 months then it was gone.

I'm diagnosed with dyspraxia. I think I express symptoms of bipolar disorder and some sort of anxiety disorder (both of which run in my family), but I'm not diagnosed with them and at the moment I don't care to be.

    None

I have been depressed, but I don't have depression.

Some things make me anxious, but I don't have anxiety.

I talk to myself, but I don't have multiple personalities.

Sometimes a lack of sleep makes me a little manic/depressive, as well as low blood sugar, but I'm not bipolar.

My attention span isn't always focused...but sometimes it is really focused. I don't have ADD or OCD.

I do not go around defining myself by these terms. I am human, not a mental disorder waiting to happen.
