What are the risks of a tonsillectomy?

I was lucky When I had tonsillitis, My doctor prescribed Antibiotics. I know all surgery has some risk.

    Well, there's a risk of death apparently, at least in the case of that 13 year old girl in Oakland, CA who is now brain dead. Of course she also had sleep apnea, which can cause major complications for any surgery that involves general anesthesia.

    I had mine taken out August of '12. Most painful two weeks I've ever experienced in my life. And I pushed a baby out of my vag with hardly any pain medication.

    I had my tonsils taken out in like 1981 brah. I'm still alive and well done. Yaaaaa, ice creammmm.

    The is certainly a pretty good chance that you'll lose your tonsils, if you have a tonsillectomy! Otherwise, it's a pretty benign procedure, and completely noninvasive.
    You get lots of ice cream afterwards, so that's a plus.
