What apocalyptic event do you think will occur?

As ridiculous as we can be we are going to thoroughly destroy the planet by polluting the earth and turning the oceans to acidic waste water full of carbon byproducts from fuel burnoff.... this is not what I want...but more to get your attention and to think ...if we all tak little steps to improve collectively we can help alot.

Probably some rock smashing right into our planet, could be asteroid... Well... Stuff related to space.

Nothing is going to happen except the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT. Once all the oil is gone, America will be bankrupt. We will enter a new era with a new system. trust me, it's a good thing.

the end of the world has already begun! the environment is ruined! the atmosphere is polluted! when i wake up in the morning, i cannot open the window cuz a flow of smog comes into my room and makes the air unbreathable. we should all avoid to use cars or gasoline transportations. we should start riding our bikes or waliking...it would be healthy and help us to keep fit. Nature has gotten enough of our selfishness and now it's reacting!

I wonder about this a lot. I think if the Apocalypse comes, it will be entirely man-made. Here's something I think is plausible:

The world's governments will collapse due to some economic crisis. Perhaps this would be brought on by a catastrophic war fought in the name of "counter-terrorism."

Terrorists will have gotten their hands on either nuclear weapons or biological weapons.

Famine will follow the devestating war because food prices will skyrocket with the diminished supply.

Disease will become more common as the infrastructure crumbles.

Chaos ensues.

Literally if other country's actually have the nuclear bomb then they could literally just bomb us at any moment and set a war instantly. Though the U.S. Does have tracking and we might be fine but other wise and they can't get to it or hurt it in time then literally a nuclear holocaust

In terms of what? Some of these things happen every so often. It does not mean its the end of the world. I believe we will have world war 3.

Ill put my money on an alien invasion. I would like the adreneline rush of trying to escape them. Seems more probable anyway, with the rate technology is developing we might not have to worry about a deadly virus in the next 40+ years so much unless its extra-terrestrial. Zombies, with all the films... i think zombie awareness has been raised greatly enough that there isnt one stupid person who will compromise a group of peoples safety. As for a nuclear holocaust, i think we are getting enough sense as a race not to do that in the next 100+ years, its more 1960's than 21st century in my opinion. As for a natural disaster its hard for it to happen on the scale of the entire planet, excluding meteors and solar flares.

I'm going with natural disaster. We've been having a shit-ton of disasters happening as of late, so I bet these are just a warm-up. I'm betting there's going to be some giant motherfucking disaster that's going to top ALL the shit that's happened lately. THAT'S what will end our existence, I'm guessing.

I really can't say. I live in the US and we are going down first. After that, we wont be around to see what happens to the rest of the world.

I checked "other" because I believe that the world will be flooded, since sea levels of the world are rising, and not enough is being done to keep coastal areas from being swallowed up... I hate to think of what would happen when salt water conquers significant portions of farmland in the world, and with less space for (currently over 6 billion) people to live.

In 2012 there will be a solar storm that will strike the earth and NASA has already confirmed this, it just hasn't been told by the mass media.
This solar storm has a probable chance of getting through the atmosphere because there's already damage in it already. And once it gets through the atmosphere it will knock down the North American electrial grid system which in turn will change our lives from possible days, months or years! From cell phones, to cooking, to turning on the lights at home. It could all change because of our technolgy being out.

I think that a nuclear holocaust is inevitably going to occur whether in three years or three hundred years. No country is going to disarm themselves, and it only takes one power player (e.g. china/japan) vs (USA/UK) and boom. Bye bye civilisation.

Also I think that a deadly strain of virus will break out within the next hundred years because we are already fighting mutating pathogens against the few antibiotics that we have. Some antibiotics are already useless as the bacteria has mutated.

Pakistan and India will fight over Kashmir with their nukes, the UN will get involved, then the EU, then individual countires in both those groups, then KABOOM!
But a virus is much more likely.

First a Natural Disaster will bring on a Deadly Virus then in a panic the world powers will try to defend and gain control by setting of a Nuclear event that will lead to a Holocaust. After the Nuclear Holocaust there will be a Zombie Apocalypse and then Space Aliens will invade the Earth to try to restore some other form of life. Then after a million years or so Cavemen will walk the Earth once more to repeat the cycle of Mankind.
