What ancient place intrigues you?

The Minoan civilization on Crete. The had water drainage and sewers 2000 years before the roman empire. They were also considered fairly pacifistic in relation to most other ancient civilizations. Had they not been destroyed by a volcanic eruption, who knows how far along our species would have been by now.
They are also believed to be the inspiration for the Atlantis myth.
If I had to pick just one, I'd go with Egypt.

The Polynesians were the most interesting to me as a seafarer. They were crossing oceans before the Norsemen were even sticking their noses out the of fjords. They could navigate and find small islands in the wide Pacific Ocean a thousand years before Columbus mistakenly "found" the wrong continent.
I always found ancient egypt interesting. The pyramids, pharaohs and the like. I have a few paintings of it.
ive always loved a bit of ancient greek mythology, but find british history quite interesting too, i dont pretend to know a lot about it, i left school early and learnt nothing there, so what i do know is just my own curiosity, would love to learn more about this stuff. i remember reading about what ArmusWasTheFirstTroll was talking about, that cretan civilisation that got destroyed by the volcano. love a bit of history, probly why i love a bit of Blackadder, comedy and history in one haha
