Were you ever attacked for no reason?

Have you ever been attacked for no reason? Was it on the internet by an insulting troll? Perhaps you were walking around outside minding your own business and someone just starts a fight with you? Or perhaps something else.

It wasn't exactly for no reason on his part, but he came at me from behind and I had no idea he was coming.
My band was playing a club and this drunk wanted my Aussie slouch hat that I gotten from an Aussie soldier. I said no, it wasn't for sale and walked away.
Some time later I was sitting on the rail between the bar and the dance floor watching the band play when this cretin pulled me over backwards. I landed on his chest and was going to crush his larynx but my drummer, who'd watched the whole thing develop, had leapt from behind his drums in time to grab my arm before my elbow could deal the blow, thankfully I guess.
The guy had kinda pissed me off.

I hate it whenever someone likes the hat I'm wearing a little too much.

I hope you saved your hat? I had one for years and it blew onto a railway line while I was waiting for a train and got squashed. More than twenty years ago and I still miss it even though I've had others since

    • I didn't know your were in a band. Do you have any songs online? I actually had a similar situation at a friends show where somebody tried to steal my hat by grabbing it and running off. The bouncer grabbed them as they ran for the door and I got my hat back.

I was one of those talentless male groupies called a roady. Road managed for a few bands in the mid to late 60's. Retired in 1970, bought my first big sailboat, and set sail around the world.

        • I have heard it is hard to sail across the ocean. What is your advice for going overseas? I would too like to travel the world in a house boat someday. It is one of my life goals. I am sure it is great to live somewhere you can travel the world.

I'm not so sure you could comfortably cross oceans on what I consider a 'houseboat', but living aboard an ocean worthy sailboat is what most 'cruisers' do.
The difficulty factor of sailing is somewhere between walking and driving a car, with a hefty dose of common sense thrown in. Very low difficulty factor and extremely low danger factor.
The key is picking the right boat. There's a sight called Yachtworld.com that you might want to browse and many sailing and cruising forums where you can lurk and learn a lot.
The best book on basic sailing knowledge is 'Royce's Sailing Illustrated'.
            Hope this helps.

When I was about 12 a girl kicked me hard on my public bone and I still don't know why she did it, but I remember her name and where we were, sitting on the grass waiting for a school softball or hockey match to start. To this day I don't know why she did it.

Nope. Usually it's for a reason.

Yes, the 7th grade and the 9th grade. It's all a blur, and it's better that way, because a flashback could send me over the edge like a combat veteran or something. My dad's a double winner; he's a retired postal worker, and ex special forces/psychological operations Vietnam veteran. He hasn't gone off yet, but I grew up used to hearing him say crazy, violent shit about people he hated in a nice, calm, relaxing voice. I don't care, he's my dad and I love him!

I think I have a magnet inside me that pulls negative people to me who start fights for no reason.
Usually, nowadays, I just punch them in the throats and walk away.
I used to always just walk away; until the day that one of the people kicked me really hard on my spine and I trip and felt embarrassed.
That's why everyone here thinks I am an asshole. I'm just done with the whole "turning the other cheek" goody two shoes crap. If a random person thinks it's okay to want to intimidate another, then they deserve to be punched on the throat with a middlefinger knuckle
