Weird serious stare

Hi first off i'm a girl.
There's this guy who heard not that long ago that I like him but he doesn't know whether it's true or not and now whenever he sees me he just stares at me with a serious stare all the time. I haven't spoken to him in months and we were never friends. I was just someone he would make fun of because he knew that I liked one of his friends "/
It's quite weird because whenever he sees me it's like a curious serious stare and whenever my best guy mate is near me it's like he gives him the death stare & he started a fight with my best guy friend for no reason when i wasn't around.
Also when I smiled at him once when he was doing the stare he looked straight to the ground...
What do you think is up with that?

    I am not sure what to make of it. He is a bit strange cause if he likes you he is acting like a tool. He sounds like he might have a few issues...

    It's normal, hes probably just shy and isn't sure how to talk to you about it. I feel kinda sorry for him because he probably really believes youre in love with him.

    Well I dont know but i think he might like you and might be normal for him to fight with people alot...but we can't tell only you know best
