Weight limit on leggings?

Or yoga pants, whatever you wish to call them. Should there be a weight limit? I don't mean chunky girls! I love seeing a chunky girl in such a level of exposure, sometimes it can make my day.
But there's a difference between chunky and overweight. Heck, it scars me (and some others) for the rest of the day, if I see an obese woman in leggings.
Why? Why would you not opt for something more conservative, to save me the trouble of being disgusted and venting on IIN?
Everyone has a right to wear yoga pants, I guess. But I just think we should have an agreed weight limit on them and spread that limit throughout the internet and the real world to reduce the occurence of such abomination. Over time, this limit would become the unofficial weight limit for exposing clothing, and even obese women would come to hear of it.

I don't know what kind of shallow, pointless existence one would have to live in order to give this much of a damn about someone else's clothing but I don't envy you one bit.

For every moment of slight disgust I have ever had in which I have seen someone wear clothing that I deem unattractive, there are 6000 other things on my mind that are far more important than that slight moment of disgust.

Short answer: no. Get over yourself.

I think a better idea would be to limit how much stupid people can speak.

Yeah, not only speak, but write stupid questions on the internet

I don't think my personal opinion on this topic should qualify me as a person who is to have liberty and freedom of speech hindered.
Unless your Hitler, who enjoyed taking away liberty and treating certain people unequally.

I'm going to be blunt with you.

Very few people on this website are immune from the eye-sore that is people who are very out of shape bearing it all out in public.

A lot of users on this site are far from polite company.

A lot of users on this site, however, have experience with being socially outcast, alienated, discriminated against and so forth. A lot of these users have been bullied due to their weight, their looks, their socially awkward behavior and whatever other (legal) idiosyncrasies you can think of so your comments regarding the matter of other people's flaws that aren't flaws that legitimately harm anyone (rape, assault, horrible parenting) are not going to be well received.

You're the one who wants to take away a person's right to wear certain clothes...

        • Please reread. I explicitly stated that everyone has the right to wear leggings, but simply said some people shouldn't.
Whether they listen to or ignore a weight limit is their choice.

There should be a weight limit. You're right. Or they should make leggings only size XS and S. Some people go as far as wearing bright coloured leggings or.leggings with patterns. Only models look good in those. :/

I have no issues with fat people in yoga pants. It's the fat people in low rise booty shorts and tiny crop tops that gross me out. I work at a Walmart on the weekends and I see this kind of thing all the time.

I feel the same. I think that we should be able to debate about all here. This site is not about being serious all.the time. And this question about leggings has its place here.:)

Well he only made one point, his entire question was the point, like it's quite self explanatory. But don't confuse what I said with my being in agreement with it, I just dont think one should be up in arms about what he said.

Not up in arms at all, just slightly bemused by a post which seemed meaningless and trivial to me

About 50% I reckon, then there are the incomprehensible ones.

I would hate to play Devil's advocate here, but I do sort of understand the point he makes. That is not to say I necessarily agree society has a right to dictate what a woman wear solely because she does not fit the societal ideal of beauty, but that women should refrain rom wearing clothing which stretch so thin as to offer no cover whatever. We should also recognize that what we choose to wear will draw attention in either a negative or positive way, and 'twould be illogical to become upset over such a human response, Please note that these judgments should be made within the confines of your skull, as it is no one's place to tell another how they should look. We all know what we look like; why would there be a need for someone to point it out?

And who is going to police it and how?

    • I didn't mean it as a law, but as a sort of unofficial standard that will become widespread throughout the population.

Good luck getting a large number of human beings to agree on something as important as polluting the only planet they have to live on, let alone something like this!

      I will volunteer.

They will have to pay a fine and be forced to wear dark baggy clothing that covers their head and butt, so they appear more like shapeless zombies.

If they don't agree, the Modesty Police will be called to force them to submit and/or lock them up.

      Sound familiar?

This kind of thing actually happens in certain backward countries.

Like the USA? There are plenty of towns where hip hop type clothes are a fine or jail. And other equally idiotic laws.

WHO CARES about what you think. women are NOT dressing to PLEASE people like you. they wear it for themselves. they're comfortable in it. as long as you can't see their ass through the leggings, there is NO reason for there to be a "weight limit" on them or yoga pants. let women BE. stop scrutinizing their every action and treating them like objects meant to be visibly pleasing to you.

the administrator at my school, tried to do this. The bitch seems like a middleaged mean girl.. She sent this really condescending letter out to the students and the staff saying there was a weight limit for leggings and other clothes. Giving detentions to one person for wearing something but letting other favorite kids wear whatever. It didn't last long the admistrator kept getting hate mail and four of the best teachers threatened to quit.fyi. I am not even fat. But my friend is and she was really hurt by this letter. ( this was when I still went to school.)

Females should emulate the Amish and strict Mennonites and wear dresses that cover the majority of their bare, naked flesh. The hands and wrists and head are exposed.

will stop wearing yoga pants.(they are so comfortable but probably not age appropriate) but only when hell freezes over and if you promise to stop wearing huge shorts with your whitey tighties showing.
