Weed: thc as my sober state

I dont know about you all, but i'm more of a grumpy, blank, stubborn
person in my sober-state. It is until i get ahold of some weed, i turn into
a more mellow, and outgoing person. I'm 19 and been smoking weed since 14..
since then, without weed i feel incomplete, its like it just balances me out
with society, and 40%% of what we all portray on a daily basis, call me a pothead.

But does anyone else out there feel incomplete without weed, like
THC should be their SOBER state? ..or is it not normal?

    Hey man.
You are not the maladjusted person. (unlike this tool above me would have you believe.) If you are unholy depressed by this terrible world around you. Its normal. People aren't meant to live in massive collectives. Its annoying and people are stupid.

Not to mention people have been using and smoking weed for literally thousands of years. There are no harmful effects aside from the inhalation of carbon. ( and well we all die, wouldnt you rather die high?)

Forget that guy, and forget me. If it gets you through this horrible inbred corporate landscape on a daily basis, and you can afford it. UMMMM do it.

Well, I've smoked for more than 3 decades & I have to say my opinion falls somewhere in the middle.

    Here's what I would say:

Just understand that you can become addicted to anything. Anything that gets those endorphins going, from food to alcohol to violence to sex to legal drugs to illegal drugs, can get an addiction going. Weed is no different. If you can't live without it, you're an addict.

I've tried alcohol of course -- didn't become addicted. Tried cocaine -- left it behind easily. Tried weed -- been smoking for 30 years. It just depends on the person.

And just like other drugs, weed can become a crutch. It can help you "hide away" instead of solving your problems, including the boredom of living and the smallness and stupidity of people around you. If life is boring and people are stupid, maybe changing locations and occupation will work; that's definitely more productive than weed.

...Which brings me to another point -- weed won't be fun forever (unless you find a girlfriend who's a pothead too. That can extend the fun, but those are rare...) So since weed won't be fun forever, it's better to skip the long-term dependency and solve your problems as soon as you can (leaving the drugs behind).

Also keep in mind that since weed is illegal (thus unregulated) it can be adulterated. You can't trust it all. If you plan to continue smoking for a lifetime, learn to grow your own. Plus drug dealers (including weed dealers) are all assholes--if they even *found* a bunch of weed on the street you can bet they would package it up and sell it to you, not knowing what's in it or where it came from.

Now that I've gone through the negatives, I have to say: weed has it's good side. It can make you more insightful, more patient, more gregarious, etc. Weed is special and though I think about quitting, I don't feel comfortable not having a supply on hand. It's now a part of who I am. It provides me with "moments of clarity". It's a "reset button" for my outlook.

All in all I'd say if you can live without it, live without it. If you can't live without it, try to control it. If you can't control it, hit up Marijuana Anonymous or some other 12 step program.

btw, I'm physically fit and have been gainfully employed for all of my adult life. In spite of being a pothead, I'm doing better than the average guy my age.

Anyway, you can't believe the stupid stiffs who think weed is like crack, but then give a pass to cigarettes, alcohol, prozac, viagra, all those legal drugs the govt had to recall, etc. Nor can you follow those who think weed is the end-all and be-all, like it's all good...

It really should be legal & taxed. If it were, people would be able to see its problems and benefits more clearly, like alcohol. Weed addiction wouldn't be as underground and murky. Addicts vs casual users would be more clearly defined...

I don't know how everyone else wrote a goddamn paragraph, but... tl;dr - too long, didn't read. Smoking weed is pretty much harmless. Unless you have a predisposition to schizophrenia or some other psychotic disorder, it probably won't hurt you. But you shouldn't be stoned all the time. That would impair you in life in general, make your life basically pointless, since you're not even living it the way everybody else in it is, and it would definitely fuck up your head. Weed WILL make you dumber while you're stoned and it WILL make your memory bad when you're stoned. And it's not really good to be a stupid, lazy pothead that can't remember shit all the time. Stick to doing it every couple days or so. Also, if you find yourself bored or unhappy without it, you might be smoking too much. Don't want to get a habit.

not a good thing to rely on pot to live a day. Its easy to kick pot, just have to be ready. caution though, many say Canadian and some hydro will have the ability to long term affects. there is also the lung factor, emphysema and being unfit. I am a muso, I cant play better when stoned, I think i do. I have stopped for a few months, don't miss a thing, in particular, I had to because I need to focus to get through this very hard time in my life, pot just sedates me. If you can write what you have written, then you are good enough to know what to do. Ps, treat it like spirits, like whisky, if a person drinks it daily, then that person is pretty much in trouble. Also, I have found a pain cycle, I go down, get depressed and really mad, like at the separation of my wife. I use to smoke into sedation, then I just accepted the pain on my own, sometimes complaining but think did not help, eventually it would pass, it could be days, but my body seemed to say, enough is enough on its own and bring me back to a more happy level, all by itself! I use to think pot was an escape, but as I have found, and Marley even says, "you cant run away from yourself". So allow yourself to get depressed and expect your body to come out of it by itself. Be careful with Hydro, it can hurt the body, watch Ip Man and consider Wing Chun. Treat pot like strong liquor. Think of the children who will need you to play games with them, how awful if you are not able to have a full life because of self gluttony. My check is in the mail.
