Weed changed my life (for the better)

Alright so I'm 18 years old and I started smoking a couple years ago with some friends.. Before smoking weed I used to be extremly introverted and frankly wasn't very exciting.. I was depressed and wasn't really enjoying life.. Now two years later I'm a complete different person.. I know this can't all be due to marijuana but I know that it has had a huge impact on my life. Marijuana has oppened my eyes and turned me into one of the most popular kids in my school. I'm no longer quite or boring. So my question to you is have you had a similar reaction and has weed had a positive impact on your life? Weed has made me a live in the moment person and I love it.

I have smoked weed for the last 10 years, arguably due to repressed family issues. I know this is no excuse, but I was raised to be so hypercritical that it has taken the edge off for me personally. My advice to pot smokers especially is this, don't rely on it. It can become a replacement for any other drug or anything really. It is psychologically addictive. However, within the last 10 years I smoke less, mix it with tobacco or hash, and sustain my high with less mileage. Moderation is important, even with something as good as weed. Sure, I still smoke every day, but cold turkey solutions often can just lead to a relapse back into addiction. I'd rather mellow this out and see if it fades away in time anyway. Also, my girlfriend does it as well and it helps us communicate better. My friends who previously did cocaine are now reforming with weed, so if that's not a good argument, I don't know what is. Change has to start somewhere.

Hey I know exactly what you are sayin. I'm my going to lie I used to be kind of loser. I was very depressed with my life and most of the "popular kids" never really liked me untill me and my friend first started smoking weed. I noticed that my personality changed but for the good. I became more outgoing and developed a good personality when before I was scared to talk to people. People started to like me more and before I knew it I had tons of friends and a sexy girlfriend. Things I never would have imagined sitting at home playing xbox. For me weed really did turn me from loser dipshit to a cool person. Just don't smoke poppers my friend. Completely turns weed into a dirty addictive drug. Very hard to quite.

Ok, to all you people who are putting weed down you have either nvr done it or had a bad experience. My husband is bi polar and smoking weed helps him so much, more than any meda the soca have prescribed him. I smoke once in awhile too and it does help. Why do you think you can get a prescription for it? It's an anti-depressant and well as a pain killer. Read up on it and then shove ur foot in ur mouth. Smoke it up buddy! If it helps, then that is awesome!

What? When did I ever say how often I smoked? There is no logical way you can come to the conclusion that I am in some way addicted...

If it had some kind of health benefit for you then it would make sense that you feel better and it improved your life, but you didn't say you have any health problem, you say you suffered from being an introvert. You may have come out of your shell anyway in time... Keep in mind that when you get out of high school popularity means nothing, unless you have a reality show. I know you won't believe me now, but you can have 300 friends in high school, and 3 by the time you are 30.

You want the stuff to work when you really need it, so don't build up a tolerance while you're good and strong, just enjoy your health, and should you ever truly need it it will still be there and then you can truly benefit from it's medicinal and healing properties.

it's probably the other way around--that decision to smoke weed was the first time you decided to "live in the moment," and the living in the moment thing made your life better, and weed is just part of that. don't go thinking it was all the weed, cause then when you try harder drugs, you will definitely think your life is better cause of them.
hell, when you do crystal meth or heroin, you think your life is fucking golden for the first few weeks or months, but it is actually turning to shit.

Marijuana is definitely a loaded subject. I've been hearing the pros and cons on this herb for years. What I do know, is that it has been in use for 10,000 years. The Chinese used it for morning sickness for women, and for pain. And different cultures have used some form of it for centuries. So, our government has done it's level best to try to brainwash us into thinking it's the worst drug out there, when some of the government's own chemists develop some very lethal chemicals that have profound consequences to our health. And that's ethical? It does lower your inhibitions when you smoke it, probably does more for pain when injested, and if you are in a group that is smoking weed and getting along, who are you hurting? Some of the best artists use it, to relax enough so they can do what they love to do. What is an oxymoron though, is having medical marijuana legalized in more states now, but it is still illegal as far as the US government is concerned. And companies for the most part don't recognise marijuana's medicinal value. So it's easy to fire someone using it for whatever. But if you are just one of those people that would rather smoke than socialize, and you are a loner anyway, you are seen as a loser. It is a lot of BS. Smoke but don't abuse it.

  • yeah dude, when i was high i was all relaxed and i talked so intelligently, but i was also fun and goofy. i also seemed so cool to be around. but its not my personality. and i accept that my boringness is better than being a BIG FAT PHONEYY ;)

Fredo3...if it's been good for you, then keep right on doing it! More power to you! Don't let people talk you out of it. I have seen many many people for whom weed has been the best thing ever. Good for you!

I smoke pot too, but you are a moron. You actually think weed helped you to do that? Any placebo could work just the same.

And yes, it is psychologically addicting. I know too many (including myself) who've come to this conclusion and wish we didn't start smoking to begin with.

  • mouse2323

Yup same here, wasn't a loser or anything a like before but smoking certainly brought the intellectual, funny, out going side of me. Enjoyed the ride for sometime but now that I want to quit I find myself to be a paranoid, slow, anxious, scared freak. My advice? Leave it before it consumes you. It happens too quick to realize it and it takes a long time to admit it. Develop a personality on your own, not based on an external force. And if anything this experience should teach you not to worry so much of what others think of you. Just know that if you continue on your path you will soon fall, and it will be hard one.

Totally agree with scuba. I was a little shocked on what the other people had commented. Only real problem is drug tests for jobs, etc.

  • scubaswifey

It's true, all these people that are commenting on how bad it is obviously haven't done their research. And it's not addicting, now cigarettes, coke, alcohol, meth and all that shit, are highly addicting, that's why you have withdrawls and siezures. I think before people comment on subjects they should know a lil more about the subject. Google it bychs! :-D

Normal. I didn't have quite the same transformation, but I definitely saw kids like you who changed completely (for the better). Being socially awkward isn't fun for anyone, and I think weed removes that critical eye everyone has of themselves so they can not worry about the societal constructs that make us feel different & disconnected from one another.

Yes it does than, and it probably helped...
But, if you think you need pot to be yourself, to be fun, or to have fun, then this is called psychological addiction. Be warned it is hard to discover, try not to take pot for 1 month, if it is hard for you, you may be psy-addict.

@roothead- did you read the question???I've takin a course in drugs and alcohol and alcohol is considered a depressent... Marijuana can have healing and anti depressent effects on some people.. So I'll rephrase the question for all you idiots.. Have you had an anti depressent reaction to weed like I have seemed to have??

Alcohol isn't a depressant. It just lowers your inhibitions which means if you are someone who's sad, then you become more likely to cry in public, if
You're happy then you will be more outgoing depends on your attitude while drinking. Weed though not addictive, can become an addiction because you are addicted to how you feel when you smoke. Everything in this world can become an addiction, though it not be addicting. I would find something that makes you
    Confident besides smoking
