We are all more than one person

I firmly believe that we are not who or what we actively think we are. I think there are whole other "selves" in there that we don't know about. This may sound crazy, but I have solid, solid evidence of this. Consciously, we have an identity that we walk around with every day and are aware of. This can be elaborately created, but generally just follows along with the other side. The other side can be vastly different from what we think. In dreams, other things come through that are vastly different from what we know of ourselves. We may do outrageous things we could not normally do in real life and this self can interact with other unconscious "selves" of people. Sometimes, we can have multiple versions of these "selves". As crazy as it sounds, the person who we think we are isn't even the real self in my opinion for most people unless they seriously dig into their own mind and something from further down emerges from within them. As out there as it sounds, I do not think the unconscious is one person, but possibly, in some cases, an infinity of them. I think that these "other selves" can do things that we may not even understand consciously. I have extensively studied my own dreams extensively. I know some people may think this theory sounds odd, but it's something I have come to on my own over many years of intensely focused self examination and intense interest in dreams.

Let's see, there's me, myself and I. Will that do?

Dreams are when we are visited from spirits from the third or second dimension, and when we sleep, our souls wander, much like in the game beyond: two souls.

You are almost touching the 'truth'. The 'self' is a construct, an elaborate hoax, perpetrated by the Ego. The thing you think of as your solid, consistent, self fluctuates with every moment. It's only the Ego that maintains the 'feeling' of solidity. The ever present "I want, I want" Ego, running the whole show. Once you realize and understand that; "There is no 'I' in 'I' where will you be then? That is a whole other story.......

Forget all the fancy trimmings and ritual of 'religion' that's just window dressing. Start your spiritual quest by going to google and typing in one word:

  • Technically we are nothing but thoughts and our bodies are just vessels for whatever thoughts we have at the moment, so in a way you are right.

However unless someone has multiple personalities they will have core personality traits that are generally consistent.

Personally I feel very in touch with my dream self and don't see a huge difference unless I am not controlling myself in the dream, but as long as I have the same awareness I have the same personality.

Self is one of the philosophical concepts I think it most interesting, and devising your own model for it is as good a way as any of understanding it. There are all sorts of ways of thinking about self that make sense in their own way.

I've read a bit of philosophy of self before, and I think most of it is too vague in language to be an especially valuable way of understanding it. Not that I could do any better at writing a book on what it means to be ourselves; I don't know what I feel about self, myself :P

What, if I may ask, is your "solid evidence?"

Because fish is an instant reference to jesus. In no way is the cross more of a signal of jesus...
