Waterlines (eyes) burn?

So, today I was crying all day from a very tragic event. When I got home, I found that my waterlines on my eyes were burning. Is this normal? (This picture is not my waterline)

    Some of the makeup must have gotten into your eyes via your tears. I've had my tears to make contact with something, resulting in my eyes burning.
