when I was 12 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I was over 200 pounds. at age 21, I weigh less, 180. was this child abuse? my parents would feed me to make me stop crying and I was diagnosed with depressed in grade 4. my parents were confused, they had i had no reason to be sad, i had everything, im just a spoiled brat. theres nothing i can do about it now but i want to know the reaction from the rest of the world.

    Educate yourself to overcome your lack of control and your health problems. I did it and it saved my life.

    Diabetes type 2 is normally known as adult-onset diabetes, so the fact that you got diagnosed with it at 12 years old is frightening to be honest.

    You were definitely not brought up well, but there is also something called gestational diabetes, which happens when a child is born to a woman whose blood glucose levels were so high during pregnancy that her body couldn't produce enough insulin to absorb it all.

    The fact that you are now diabetic could be a completely honest mistake or intentional. We will never know, but the reality is you are left with the lifelong consequences.

    I would consider this child abuse, intentional or not.

    Yeah that is abusive. They saw the issue occurring and did nothing to stop it. Congrats for pulling through and losing the weight though! Just keep looking forward.

    it doesnt sound abusive. some people are just fat. some people just have diabetes. and now that you are 180 thats really not bad. it sounds like your parents hearts were in the right place. i dont know them so i could be wrong; there are some cold evil parents in this world. but yours dont sound like it. they were just trying to make u happy. they were just misguided. doing their best
