Waiting for someone to log into msn

Alright so I have this friend who I don't know in real life, only online. So basically I've been talking to this person for about a year, off and on. But in the past say, 1 week I find myself waiting from like 4pm and later for this friend to come online. I asked some of my real-life friends if they think it's creepy and got mixed answers.

So I want to know, is it normal to wait for someone you don't know in real life to log into MSN for like, 6 hours?

Thanks.

Uhh yeah lol they are the opposite sex. My friends say the same thing, they keep saying I am in love and making fun of me for it. But I've never met this person in real life. So that couldn't be the case...

lol.... i totally know what you're feeling...

i know this guy from online games...
and we had known for 4 years now..
we are NOT in a relationship...
but i do secretly had a huge crush on him...

everytime i saw him online, i am so excited and had a goosebump... yes, everytime for 4 years....
last time we would chat everyday for 2-3 hours before i went to sleep... sometimes it would be up to whole night...

I've had this before. So to me it is quite normal. 'Cause you don't really know, them and you're never going to meet them, and they can't tell anybody... you kinda trust them 'xo

hey i've got this problen too, and mine is much worst. i really like this guy who i always chat online with, and he's arab and i'm israeli which basically makes us enemies.
but i'm like in love with him and wait all day to chat with him, and he's always on my mind.
i know this is not normal but i can't seem to help myself.

maya, what are you planning to do? Does the guy know how you feel, are his feelings reciprocated? I'm sorry for your situation.

sure man, maybe you do like her. it isn't unheard of to like someone just based off the thoughts coming out of their head (and onto the computer screen). IMO you should try everything you can to meet her IRL before you become an obsessive stalker type which could happen.

It's not that weird, you probably just really like talking to them, but I suggest you try to cut down the amount of time you're on msn anyway as spending too much time on the internet can reduce the amount of time you spend talking to friends or doing other stuff irl.

Well the thing is, I have a lot of work to get done on the computer anyways, so I'm here the whole day on weekends. My friends, including my roommate, are in the same boat with the schoolwork. So really there's not much room for going out, alone or with other people. It's rare, other than going to/from class that I go out. It's sad.
