Waist trimmer

I used to be pretty heavy way over 300 pounds and I'm about 5 feet 5 inches tall. So as you can imagine I was a big boy! Through a few years of working 3rd shift at a large retail store I managed to get my weight down to about 250 pounds. Within the past six months I began a healthy diet and a decent work out routine. I manged to get myself down to about 190 pounds.
But now I have a huge problem! My gut! While the rest of my body is still somewhat jiggly while getting more toned each day. My stomach stayed pretty much the same except now its like hollow fatty skin.
I was thinking about getting a waist trimming belt from where I work. Figured it would work since several people gave me the advice to wrap myself in plastic wrap. I really don't feel like doing that and figued the waist trimming belt would do the same thing. I don't wanna have surgery on it that would suck.

What do you think?

A waist training best does nothing for your weight just pushes your organs in places they shouldn't and if not managed properly can be extremely dangerous. Talk to your doctor about options.

Congrats on the weight loss, keep it up. Unfortunately, short of expensive surgery, you're mostly out of luck. A trimming belt won't help you any.

My advice is to keep up the diet and start lifting. Muscles will help fill you in, but you'll probably always have some loose skin around.

  • I've only had good experiences with waist trainers, though I was never over weight to begin with, so I don't know how well they work for people wanting to tighten up loose skin. If the skin is stretched with stretch marks it may be tricky to get that to tighten back up again, but all things come with time! Tanning does wonders for tightening skin, and I think they have a new laser treatment that tightens as well (though it may be pricey) The plastic bag trick is absolutely miserable and makes you sick all the time, but sadly, like most unhealthy and awful diets/tricks, is effective. Congrats on the weight loss by the way

A waist trimmer won't do anything for you. The wrapping yourself in plastic wrap trick people told you about only brings temporary results. Unfortunately for some people one of the consequences of being obese is issues like extra cellulite, extra skin, extra fatty tissue, or stretchmarks being left on the body(I got stuck with a shit-ton of cellulite/stretchmarks on my legs and saggy boobs.) The best thing you can do is get surgery to correct the problem.
