Violent waves in sleep

Big up to the peeps of the world...

i am posting this in the hopes of maybe getting a bit of clarity on a situation I encounter on a day to day basis that is kinda worrying me...

When i am falling asleep, (i dont know how best to describe it) a violent thunderous sound and feeling overcomes me, i am awake enough to sense it and even have to tell myself to be strong and fight this thing off.. Sometimes i tell this feeling íf you want a piece of me then lets go' and at some points it seems to subside..
Sometimes guys, it is so overbearing my Fiance has said that i have violently shook the bed and cursed words that are not even classified as words. this has scared her as well as me when i found out..

I have asked alot of peeps their opinion and had answers ranging from the paranormal to the central nervous system..I do not believe it is Sleep Paralyses, but then again sometimes it leaves me so exhausted i dont know what to believe..

anyone out there got any suggestions/answers would be great!!!

thanks Guys!

appreciated

It could be your fear of letting go as you slip into unconsciousness manifests itself as this violent noise trying to keep you awake.

Its the paranormal phenomenon of sleep paralysis. Used to get it bad too. The electricity coursing through your body, the hurtful ringing in the ears, the fear, the voices. Sometimes I would fight with an actual entity while it would tell me all the while that its just air. I think it was a succubus or incubus. Other times Id wake up thinking somethings trying to choke me. Turned out to be a blanket wrapped around my back. Ive been a firm believer of astral abduction ever since I had a couple bad episodes. Most of the time its just your imagination though.

      Hi Beth Beth

thanks for your comment, have been already to one where he stated it could be a neurological symptom of stress and gave me pills that were more like tranqs but didnt do anything for the cause...

it happened last night again.. very hectic.. going to see my Rabbi..

I think I know what you mean, even though I experienced it differently: I used to get these falling dreams and felt this roaring, overpowering rush in my brain as though really falling fast from a great height. I'd try to force myself to wake up to save myself from it; concentrating to move a finger or my eyelids to break through the paralysis.
Other times I got this rush in the brain when sleeping, but not necessarily in connection with dreams, just as a force by itself that I had to "fight". I was really worried that this "electricity" could cause a stroke or something, but from what I've found out it's actually harmless.
What is interesting about your experience is, that you do actually move. I don't know if that is common with sleep paralysis.

      Hi Yandaman,
sorry to hear that this affects you so much :(
as far as I know I'm physically unable to move during sleep paralysis. I just feel it as this violent thunderstorm in my head and a mad energy pulsing thru my veins (possibly an adrenaline rush). My heart rate probably goes up considerably as well.
I'm glad to say that it happens a lot less now than it used to. It no longer scares me, either, since I found out how common it is.
If all else fails, maybe you could consult a sleep specialist or go to a sleep lab. Good luck with this and keep us posted :)

This guy is right. The rushing is to do with sleep paralysis. I'm a lucid dreamer so I've experienced it many times. My body starts to vibrate violently and I can feel my pulse all over my body and it feels like a jack hammer is pounding into me.
I then normaly float away from my body and BAM! I'm in the dream.
Its good that it happens to you automaticly. Took me ages to learn to do that.

Thanks for that Curious, much appreciated..

Ye, just last night again i had an episode to which i actually had bumped my arm on the corner of my draw next to my bed and let me tell you the pain is unbearable.. my Fiance says she just heard me cursing and gripping the sheets and pulling before i let out a huge convulsion movement, he he suffice to say i think i am scaring her more than i am now...

I really need to get to the bottom of this. I am of Judiasm faith so i think i shall visit the Rabbi which i have not done before.. my doc says its a neurological symptom of stress but i dont buy that...

      Do yours feel violent?

      Thanks again. Yandaman
