Violence - what does it mean

I just woke up from the most disturbing and violent dream I have ever had.

First thing I remember is being in my old teacher's house and talking to the guy she shared her house with. He had rented her room out to a girl to help pay the bills. He picked up some strange guy from a bar the night before and they went out to the garden to sleep, with the guy following him wearing suspenders and high heels. The next day he told me the house had been burgled and all her stuff was stolen and would I help him find out what happened. My other pal (a teacher) appeared at this time and I asked her did she think he was lying, or could it be the stranger who burgled the house. The girl who rented the room was in the kitchen. I asked my friend who would do such a thing and with my eyes indicated if she thought it was something to do with her and she nodded. I asked the girl what she did for money and how she was planning on paying the rent and she ran out of the garden indicating guilt. The next thing I knew the girl had brought back her boyfriend who turned out to be another friend's husband who has a long criminal record. This is when I started to feel terrified, I remember him trying to get in the house to attack everyone. The next minute he was in the room and was laughing and playing mind games, scaring us with what he was going to do.
I was asking him questions and he said everyone was out to get him. I told him he was paranoid and he ran crying and screaming from the house. He returned and said I had found his weakness, pushed his buttons and he was going to kill us. I ran after him shouting "paranoid, paranoid, paranoid", and he jumped over the wall in the garden to the river below in order to kill himself but went through a boat roof and survived. I phoned his wife (my other friend) and told her what had happened and to be careful and take care of my 2 kids (don't have any) and her 2 kids and I would be over to take all the kids to my house. It seems my new house had moved 2 doors away from his house and when I entered my sister was in the toilet crying uncontrollably. I left 3 kids with her and took his son into the living room. I found my mother lying on the floor and looked as if she dying but there was no blood. I was puzzled, terrified and angry. As I faced her lying on the floor I had his son in front of me and could see terror in her eyes indicating he was behind me. I turned around quickly, still holding his son and he plunged a knife into his sons chest, killing him instantly. He collapsed to the floor then sat crying, rocking with his knees huddled up to his chin and I called the police. I showed him what he had done to his son, how he had killed his son and at this point he tried to kill himself. I stopped him killing himself as he should live and face what he had done by remembering it every day of his life so I handcuffed him until the police arrived and warned them he was suicidal...then I woke up.

I'd definitely say it's normal. I used to have dreams like this sometimes except other times they would be considerably worse. They were completely terrifying and I ended up having to tell my therapist about them. She had a dream book and we went over it and it simply means you're coming to terms with something you've gone through. Surprisingly, it's a good thing.

Violent? maby a bit. The scaryest bit was you saying "he should live and face what he had done by remembering it every day of his life" Thats horrible. Beond horrible. The guy in this sounds sick, needs help. But after killing his son he is forced to live and is curse with the image of what he did for the rest of his life. Letting him die would have been more human. This would make a damn good film! I would by the special edition box set with naration by (actor of choice).

Anyway, if anything you just learnt in subconsious what you would do if ever in that situation. Use a child as a meat sheild! I jest I jest.

I gotta say man, im terried.. and in a sense exited. Make it into a film and i garenty you oscars. Just make it more solid first, or not... actuly just keep it how it is but put more lines and scenes in it. Keep the insanity.

Dont worrie about it. Not normal, no one hardly ever remembers the cool dreams.
