Very confused best friend who is gay

My best friend told me that he was gay about 4 months ago and I developed a crush on him. I'm straight but still a little curious. He wanted to experiment and I was cool with it but every time we talked about it,the next day he said it was a bad idea then he would change his mind again and say it wouldn't change anything. Again I went along but the next day he again changed his mind. He has done this four times so far. Constantly wanting to do it and then not at all. This was all his idea now and he did say he doesn't have a crush on me. What is he doing here anyone have any ideas. Please help me I too am confused. Thanks

    go ahead and just do it but it could definably affect ur friend ship u might not be able to hang around him like u do now after u do something
