Vermin in a movie theater

I went to the movies last night and on my way back from the bathroom this thing ( mouse or rat) ran across the floor in front of me. I kind of froze and this old black janitor lady says" you did good honey, you didn't scream like most people do!"
Which means the place is swarming with vermin? I was freaked out because it's dark in there and they could brush against my legs and nibble my shoes!

    Yeah, people drop food all over the floor constantly and it's dark in there. Vermin paradise.

    When you go to a theater in Fla you often get bitten by fleas, so there must be vermin of some sort in there.
