Vegans have bad breath?

I work at a health store and a ton of the employees are vegan. I am NOT exaggerating...every single one of my vegan co-workers has bad breath! Even the customers I know who are vegan have bad breath. WHY?! Is it just chance or is it their diet? I think some miiiight be body oder, but I'm not sure. Is it normal for vegans to be stinky? Does too much soy do that do you? I love my coworkers, but I can't stand being around them because of the smell.

veganism is incredibly unhealthy (physically and mentally). the bad breath must be their bodies crying out for help.

seriously, who can think being vegan is healthy and natural when you need to take supplements and vitamins to survive.

tell those guys you can't stand their sickly stench and they need to start eating healthy!

A Vegan diet is extremely healthy if you eat the right foods. You can be vegan and eat junk food. For instance unhealthy cookies, chips, and cake can be vegan or vegetarian. Now, black beans, chickpeas, veggies, and other right foods are way healthier than meat and dairy meals. Check all the chemicals added to market meat. Meat in general releases toxins in the body unlike healthy foods.
Meat and dairy actually makes the body stink more.

I never noticed it when I was a vegan but I did notice a vegan diet made me flatulent. Some days I could have sounded out the whole national anthem on my rump-trumpet.

Maybe your vegans are burping a lot.

It could be from lack of nutrients or constipation.

If mints are too obvious, bring them apples and parsley. That should help with the bad breath.

Depends on their diet. If they eat allot of beans or fish it can cause a smell.

Vegetarian is not the same as vegan. Learn what these terms mean before you start spreading misinformation. Vegan can not buy, possess, or eat anything from an animal or coming from an animal. So that means no leather, dairy, wool. Vegan and Vegetarian is not the same thing and it never was.

Thank you. I know the difference now. When I wrote that, it was difficult to differentiate the two. There are many people, besides myself, who have gotten the terms mixed up.

Catholic vegetarians eat fish. Back when there were "meatless fridays"and no meat during Lent everybody ate fish instead, and they still haven't learned that fish are animals.

Some vegetarians do eat fish. Vegetarians eating fish is called Pescetarianism. I used to be one before I became allergic to seafood.

lol i don't know about this... never heard of anything about vegans having bad breath. i am one...

bad breath comes from stomach digestion, sooo depending on what you eat changes the smell, maybe you're not used to the 'vegan food breath' haha god that sounds gross

well maybe your vegans dont believe in showers too, aka like super hippies (in the worse ways)

Cause meat actually makes farts and bowel movements smell worse

I agree with shuggy-chan. Meat does make farts and bowel movements smell worst. Whatever is harder to digest and releases toxins will take its toll.
By the way, how do you know if all those CUSTOMERS are vegans?

What I can say is that when you first change your diet to a healthier diet it can cause your body to release fat and toxins.

I am in the fourth week of vegan diet, and I just started to get the strange breath. I first thought it was my gum, but my gum seems to be in good condition. I am using a mouth wash, but still I keep getting thisfunny feeling that I have real bad breath. I hope it is just one of transitional things. I had other symptoms too like head aches and body aches, which went away after a few days or so.

I found this post while looking up if other people noticed vegans have halitosis. Both my vegan friends have very bad breath, not garlic or spice breath either, this is just plain bad breath! Neither one of them looks healthy either. I can't stand to be in a car with either of them, it's awkward but I can't say anything to them about it either
