Unforgettable bad memories, iin?

Is It normal that I remember all my worst memories from the past every single day at least 15 times a day and I can't erase them from my mind? I get really annoyed when this memories come to my head. This started 4 months ago, at first I was depressed but now Im doing much better but its like impossible for me to get over this issue, I'm also really anxious and stressed out all the time.

Sometimes I think it's the devil trying to get into my head to destroy my life.

  • I think it's normal.. My boyfriend went through some very emotional things with depresstion and cutting before we were together. It think it would help finding someone close and connecting to them and getting this off your chest. Even if its just a friend. Having somone else to help you through this is a very good idea. I recommend taht it be someone you can talk to face to face :)

I feel for you, because I feel the exact same way sometimes. I was going through depression a year ago and life seemed unbearable. Its like I would purposely remind myself of bad memories everyday to bring myself down and to assure of myself of my worthless-ness. The only way you will get better is to really fix your core issues. I can advise you to think happy thoughts whenever the bad memories come in, but this wont do the trick.

You have to dig into your psyche and figure out what is triggering your bad though pattern. And also catch yourself thinking these thoughts and really talk to yourself, examine these thoughts. Once you do, you will see that the situation was not as bad as you perceive it to be in your mind. Our memories often get distorted over time, and especially if they are bad you will grow anxiety to matter over time. Anyways, I've dealt with these feelings for a while and saw a therapist for the problem. I had to go through fire in order to fix my problems from the core. Take my word though, you will be fine! By you writing about your problem here is a first step to dealing with it.

  • It's proven that we remember the bad more than the good.
