Uncomfortable when my mom looks at me?

I always feel uncomfortable when my mom looks at me because I feel like she thinks I'm hot or something, which would be weird. I'm not bad looking and I'm happy to have girls look at me, but my mom? can't stand it.

I usually end up saying "what?" or something kind of rude and she gets flustered and tells me not to be so sensitive. She looks at me every chance she gets and I don't like it.

Well, I'm a Mom and I find myself doing this all the time to my son. I love him so much and I can't help but stare at this boy I gave birth to and raised and am fascinated that he is now his own person. It's so beautiful to create a completely new, different life. Try not to be creeped out. It's a Mom thing. And I'll try not to stare at my son as much ;)

My mom does that shit to me and my siblings. I'm a girl, but I have a brother. I guess it can be creepy when you think about it. But I know it's cause she's the "emotional" type, and she loves us, and is proud of us. So maybe you're self-consciously being paranoid. But I agree with Audacia, if you see her checking your body out in that way, I'd be creeped out.

If you catch her looking at your package then yes be concerned.

  • Geez - haven't you heard of filial love?

No that is not smut, crushing or some other pornohead imagined nonsense. Filial love is the purest, deepest and most heartfelt love there is.

So if your creeped by that - well - just stop being such a creep!

Ever think its just because she loves you, & is proud of you? I know that I would feel awkward if someone was always staring at me, ask her why. Or you could just be paranoid.

    • also when I ask her why shes looking at me she always says "No, nothing" or "Just checking on you" or something else vague.

    • yeah I know it's because she loves me and is proud of me, so I tell myself that and try to be nice, but it still bothers me. I feel like it's because I'm a teen (17) and am trying to get a girlfriend. Hopefully the feeling goes away when I get older.

Don't be so insecure and don't irritationally jump to the conclusion that she thinks you're hot. I would never have considered that about my mom

Put yourself in her shoes. I'm sure she loves you very much. For her it probably feels like just yesterday that you were a tiny infant completely reliant on her. Now you are becoming your own person and I suspect it is quite an amazing process to witness...which is pretty much a repeat of what runnergirl just said.
My son isn't even three yet so he doesn't notice so much when I watch him :P

lol @ runnergirl, coz I totally agree!

Be patient, I bet your mom has thought of how soon you'll be grown & gone, & she's getting ready to miss you! Try to have faith that her admiration is no different than when you were a little guy. She's probably done it all your life, and you're just now noticing -- and right when you're super aware of females, so it's bound to be a little yecchh for you.
IDEA: Give her some really dark glasses and tell her she has to wear them around you so you can't see her eyes. XD

thats creepy. its not normal. i'm sorry you're going through that.

hopefully its just in your head. you might as well be direct and ask her what she's looking at. whether you like her answer or not tell her to stop because it makes you uncomfortable.
