Uk girls fatter than americans?

I don't get why UK girls are always saying Americans are fatter.

America has a large amount of people who are overweight, but I heard somewhere it's been proven that the UK is just as fat, if not more on in a small place than in a big country.

In Texas, USA 1 in 4 people are overweight. I'm not from there, but that's a lot of fat people. But not ALL Americans are fat. Most of its young people are much thinner than the UK young people.

I think I notice that in the UK theres not constant competition to be thin? I don't know. Women just seem to be okay with having a thickness.

But is is normal to assume UK girls are fatter than American girls?

First of all, it is a fact that THE US HAS MORE FATTIES THAN THE UK, though the UK isn't far behind. I've lived for a long time in both countries and i'd say that the US does have more fat chicks than the UK. Though it also depends heavily on what part of each country you are living in. For example In Texas you'll come across 10x more fat chicks than somewhere such as, say, Boston. Whereas the UK, if you go up North you'll generally see more fat people than down South.

and I don't think it matters who is fatter...what matters is obese people need to stop stuffing their faces. There are plenty of starving children around the world that could benefit from all the excess and unnecessary food that obese people have to eat to maintain their weight.
What a fucking stupid post...go research mass starvation in Zimbabwe or Zambia then talk about whos fucking thighs are fatter you selfish cunt.

      Lol

I've Been Miami Fl. 3 Times, I Live In London UK.
Tbh I've Never Seen So Many Fat People In My Life
Also I Think That The Media And Advertising Is To Blame.
The Portions Over There In Fast Food Restaurants Are Much Bigger And Also There's Too Much Choice.
If You Was To Go To An Average U.K Supermarket You Wouldn't See Even A Quater Of The Amount Of Sugary Cereals They Have In Miami.

UK girls aren't fat, and the ones that are, are old. But they don't care if they are fat because if they are married they don't care. But I like in the UK and I know maybe one or two fat people. But Americans are pretty fat.

That would be because you are biased, based on your username.

There are skinny and fat people everywhere, and there are also fast-food joints in most countries. That is no excuse anymore.

Haha I'm sure all the people saying no are heavy. I'm an American and I am super skinny and I HATE hamburgers. What now ;D

  • Define overweight. I'm a guy and I have a LITTLE stomach. If you look at my pictures I look rather good. I have been told I look better than I used to (I look just like my pictures but right before that, I was a little skinnier.)

However, my face shrank way down and I didn't look right. I look a lot better with the extra ten pounds and do not wish to lose them unless I go "all out" on myself and work on everything.

I really would like other peoples advice on this one.

Does it really matter? There are fat people everywhere... If you really want to know for sure look up the statistics for the percentages of overweight/obese for the UK and the USA and compare them!

Okay so I'm and Asian American. I just moved back to the States during the summer after spending four years in China.
Let me just say, the adults are one of three things:
    1. Fat/chubby all around
    2. Skinny
    3. Has noticeable flab in some areas, but not everywhere (arms, legs, face, etc.)
I have also noticed that so many younger teens are super skinny. The older teens are fairly slender, and then the chubs start coming in around 23 and up.
Just my observations. Now, I don't know which country is fatter, but I've been to a lot of countries, and (sorry to all the patriots) the fat people of the world tend to be in the Caucasian countries. -holds hands up in defense- Wait!
I know there are fat people everywhere, even in Asia (trust me, I've seen 'em). Sooooo my point? Honestly, I don't even know.
PS I got made fun of for being American in China. People wondered why I didn't eat a cheeseburger everyday.

what does it matter who is fatter, the important thing is to be happy with yourself. there are fat people in every country, just like there are skinny, thin, medium, thick, and obese.

Q - I don't get why UK girls are always saying Americans are fatter.
A - It's because you eat to many burgers.

Q - America has a large amount of people who are overweight, but I heard somewhere it's been proven that the UK is just as fat, if not more on in a small place than in a big country.
A - Where did you hear this, at weightwatchers?

Q - In Texas, USA 1 in 4 people are overweight. I'm not from there, but that's a lot of fat people. But not ALL Americans are fat. Most of its young people are much thinner than the UK young people.
A - How old are these "young" people?

Q - I think I notice that in the UK theres not constant competition to be thin? I don't know. Women just seem to be okay with having a thickness.
A - All women are thick, regardless of their nationality.

Q - But is is normal to assume UK girls are fatter than American girls?
A - I think you have weight issues, it's what's inside that counts.

I have to agree! A lot of people in the UK are fat and where I live in the USA, I rarely see fat people. I see underweight people more.. Also, 90% of my friends are underweight or near underweight..so I think the statistics are wrong. Also, they don't know how many people in the USA are truly overweight. Why? Its illegal to share doctor info unless they say its okay. So, the statistics are mainly made up. I haven't even gone to a doctor in years and I'm much thinner now than the last time I visited...so even if they did get the info there, they're now wrong.

They do say that its not really true. I mean, they estimate it by doing studies on like 1000 people from 10 towns in each state..thats not fair, you know? My town is skinny!

The US is stereotypically fat, but I see just as many fatties in the UK. Maybe even more. I can't even tell.

UK is a tiny island. There are many fat girls who think they are thin or 'average' when they're actually much above, but its same with the US.

I think the ratio is probably the same. The UK might have less because it's tiny, while the US has billions more people to judge from.

I don't know if being thin gains me the right or not to answer, but this isn't offensive to me, so hence an honest answer.

Honestly, I believe that people are getting really sadistic with the overweight thing. I mean, if someone is racist or homophobic they're a leper but it's totally acceptable to rag on the overweight. I mean look at Neomycin's comment. And people justify it by saying that the overweight CHOOSE to be overweight, as if it's so easy to give up food. Metabolism is a genetic thing. I know people who eat nothing and stay a bit heavy and I know people who eat EVERYTHING and are stick thin. It's really unfair to treat anyone so cruelly just because they don't look great in skinny jeans. Sadistic even, imo. So who cares who's fatter. Yes, we should try to all become healthier nations but let's not point fingers and play the blame game.

well ive never been to the uk.

but where i live in the us, fat people are VERY rare. maybe youll find one in a crowd of 100. so saying 2 out of 3 americans are fat is simply ridiculous

I think it's true. Every person I know from the UK after studying there for a semester in 09 is thicker either in the face or somewhere else. It wasn't what I expected at all.

And I only say this because even the thinner ones don't have distinguished jawbones or chins or something, so they seem more rounded than they truly are. In that case, they're not actually "fat".

The only thing is, most of the girls I know from there would classify themselves as thin, but they're all 'thicker' than me and I don't always call myself thin. I'm a 00 or 0 in clothing and 5'3" tall and felt weird there. So go figure.

Americans are FAT and every nation who follows in America's eating habits are fat and getting fatter!

I think fat people out number thin people in America 10 to 1.

  • Idk, maybe. All I know is that, fat people are becoming a common site in America, to be honest lol. With all these high fat diets and less and less excercise, obesity and weight gain is now a major problem in the USA--and of course around the world. I know that the U.S has taken the brunt of all of this...but I do not know about other countries because I haven't been there. Here's an interesting thing I found:

So, one day at a concert waiting in line to get autographs from the band, I met this Australian guy with his wife/girlfriend, idk...but they were standing in line right next to me. Well, my friends and I began talking with him and we got onto the topic of obesity etc..and what he said to me was shocking. He said "Are you kidding me? You think America is bad? Come to Australia..there are a lot more fat people than you can imagine" I was really taken aback by his statement. So there you have it..even Australia has their fair share of problems.

But overall, to be honest, I don't think you can single out one country that has more fat people (or a higher percentage of fat people). Maybe there are slight variations between the U.K and the U.S.A. But it is nonetheless, a worldwide problem that's growing by the day.

Actually I think in the US 2/3 adults are overweight. I'm writing a post-apocalyptic novel right now, and it involves fat people taking over the planet, and the skinny protagonist has to evade local swarms of fat a*sses trying to make him conform to their fatness (or to eat him). It'll be out in June '09. As for your question, I think it's roughly the same in the UK.
