Twin sisters fighting over dating boyfriend’s friend - who’s in the wrong?

I have identical twin sisters, Gertrude and Edith (both 23) who until now have never had a big fight. Gertrude has been with her boyfriend Yosef for 3 years and they all regularly spend time together, meanwhile Edith has never had a serious relationship.

A few months ago Edith met Yosef’s long time best friend Tristan and told Gertrude she liked him. Gertrude was annoyed and said they shouldn’t date because “when you break up it will be awkward” and pointed out that she had not perused Edith’s male friends in the past when asked not to.

Edith ignored her and is now dating Tristan, Gertrude is angry, Yosef doesn’t care and I’m watching this free TV show play out in my house.

What does Gertrude know about this friend that she isn't sharing? Break ups are often awkward for the bystanders. Who fucking cares, if you can't weather that storm, you aren't prepared for adult relationships.

  She has accused Tristan of being “a druggie” and an alcoholic, I’m not sure how she’s defining a “druggie” but she drinks like a fish herself so that at least is the pot calling the kettle black.
  
  I agree it’s odd that she cares this much, how often do you actually spend time with your sister and your boyfriend’s friend together?

  You’re the only one who realised they are false names, the guys actually have unusual names (at least by British standards) in real life. My sisters just seem like an Edith and a Gertrude.

    Yeah I kinda knew they were fake names since I've used fake names for a few of my posts in the past.

    I say Edith should do what she wants. Everyone is an adult here and dictating who a person should and shouldn't date is silly.
