True or false: respect is more important than friendship

well you cant really be friends if you don't respect each other first

To be honest, you can be a friend to someone you don't respect, it may be a shallow bitter friendship, but it's still some sort of friendship.

I would say respect is more important. I think it's more important because friendship is based on people you like, not everyone. Respect is for everyone. People can hate someone but still respect them, like a rivalry with respect.

I love my friends, even when I don't necessarily respect them for their choices in life.

Although, I have ended friendships with people that I thought were horrible to children or animals. I do have boundaries.
